The device may include a processor (1100) configured to identify the detected plurality of spectral channels of the spectral image relating to the oral cavity. Based on the detected plurality of spectral channels, the processor may cause the light source to adjust the light emitted within or about the oral cavity to modify a signal to noise ratio and/or an image calibration of a subsequent spectral image.
