  • Patent number: 8249862
Abstract: An audio processing apparatus is provided. A beamformer receives input signals and processes the input signals to generate a first processed signal. The input signals include at least one of a source signal and interference. A blocking matrix receives the input signals and operates to cancel the source signal from the input signals to generate a second processed signal. A first adaptive filter has adaptable first filter coefficients, generates a first filtered signal approximating the interference according to the first and second processed signals and continuously adapts the first filter coefficients according to the first filtered signal and the first processed signal. A second adaptive filter has adaptable second filter coefficients, generates a second filtered signal approximating the interference according to the first and second processed signals and selectively adapts the second filter coefficients according to the first filter coefficients and an output signal.

  • Patent number: 8014516
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of an echo cancellation circuit is provided, for use in a voice interaction device simultaneously outputting a remote signal while receiving a local signal. The local signal may comprise an echo generated from the remote signal. A first filter learns the remote signal at a first speed to generate a first coefficient set, and filters the local signal by the first coefficient set to generate a first filter output. A second filter learns the remote signal at a second speed to generate a second coefficient set, and filters the local signal by the second coefficient set to generate a second filter output. A third filter comprises a third coefficient set, canceling the echo from the local signal to generate a third filter output as an echo cancellation result. The controller updates the third coefficient set based on the first, second and third filter outputs.

  • Publication number: 20090175468
Abstract: An electronic device capable of preventing unwanted sound caused by gain changes are provided. An amplifier thereof amplifies an input signal and generates a amplified signal. An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) thereof converts the amplified signal to a digital signal. An automatic gain controller (AGC) thereof updates a gain of the amplifier according to a strength of the amplified signal or amplified digital signal. A smoothing unit thereof updates a gain of the digital signal from the ADC before and/or after the AGC updates the gain of the amplifier, such that click-and-pop caused when the AGC updates the gain of the amplifier is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 7409338
Abstract: A softbit speech decoder includes a speech loss concealment circuit receiving bit information, bit error probability data, and a speech information flag from an equivalent channel based on a received signal provided to the equivalent channel. The speech loss concealment circuit also contains a speech data judging circuit for judging whether the speech information flag indicates that the received signal contains speech data, a parameter generating circuit for generating output information, including a speech-parameter error probability vector when the speech information flag indicates that the received signal does not contain speech data. When the received signal does not contain speech data, the speech-parameter error probability vector generated by the parameter generating circuit allows the softbit speech decoder to continue operating.

  • Publication number: 20070189547
Abstract: Method and apparatus for echo cancellation are provided. In an echo cancellation device, remote and local signals are separated by frequency to generate a plurality of remote and local sub-band signals each corresponding to a sub-band. A plurality of voice activity detectors each respectively receives remote and a local sub-band signals to detect voice activity of the corresponding sub-band. A plurality of filters each learns a corresponding remote sub-band signal to filter a corresponding local sub-band signal, and generates a filter output of the corresponding sub-band. The learning of remote sub-band signal is dependent on a detection result of the corresponding voice activity detector. A synthesizer is coupled to the plurality of filters, mixing the filter outputs therefrom to generate an echo cancellation result.

  • Patent number: 7253352
Abstract: The present invention relates to a music playing/processing device for playing a musical file in a wireless communication device and determining the playing order of a plurality of tones of the musical file. The music playing/processing device comprises: an analysis module for receiving the musical file and analyzing a waveform corresponding to each of the tones to generate a plurality of order parameters of each of the tones; a sorting module for arranging a playing order to play the tones according to the order parameters of each of the tones; and a playing module for playing the tones according to the playing order. The music playing/processing device of the present invention is provided to reduce the tone commands to be executed and to make the digital signal processor use less memory to execute the wavetable synthesis operation, and to make the performance of the music as perfect as possible.

  • Publication number: 20070174054
Abstract: A communication apparatus operates under a voice mode or a signal mode has a demodulator, a modifier, a decoder, an error concealment unit and a synthesizer. The demodulator demodulates a received signal to generate a data frame and an original code word. If the communication apparatus is operated under the signal mode and the original control word indicates that the data frame is one bad frame, the modifier generates a processed control word that indicates that the data frame is one good frame. The error concealment unit determines whether to perform an error concealment on the data frame depending on the processed control word. The synthesizer receives code data derived by the data frame by the decoder or error-concealed data from the error concealment unit to generate a voice output.
