Patent number: 8402609Abstract: A self-lock hinge is mounted between a cover and a base of an electronic device and has a resilient sleeve and a pintle. The resilient sleeve has a tubular body with a positioning protrusion formed on an inside wall thereof. The pintle has a rod. The rod is mounted rotatably through the tubular body and has a flat wall selectively abutting the positioning protrusion. When the cover is closed relative to the base, the flat wall of the rod abuts the positioning protrusion to lock the cover. Therefore, the cover is self-locked when closing.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2009Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Assignee: Shin Zu Shing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hsiang-Chi Chien

Publication number: 20120050960Abstract: A simplified hinge is mounted between a cover and a base of a portable electronic device. The simplified hinge has a pintle connected to the base, a main linking sheet connected to the cover and a resilient washer and a positioning washer abutting each other and mounted around the pintle. The resilient washer has a resilient segment protruding toward one side. The positioning washer has corresponding positioning protrusion or detent. With the elasticity of the resilient segment, the resilient washer generates torsion when rotating between the positioning washer and the pintle. Furthermore, the positioning protrusion or detent selectively engages with the resilient segment to provide positioning function. Therefore, the resilient washer provides not only the torsion but also the positioning function so that the simplified hinge has a simplified structure and its volume is effectively reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2010Publication date: March 1, 2012Inventor: Hsiang-Chi CHIEN

Patent number: 8082627Abstract: A hinge is mounted in an electronic device with a cover and a base. The hinge has a first pivoting assembly, a second pivoting assembly and a resilient unit. The first pivoting assembly has a resilient plug. The resilient plug is mounted between the second pivoting assembly and the resilient unit to provide friction and to keep the second pivoting assembly from departing from the first pivoting assembly. The friction is adjusted by changing the resilience of the resilient plug or the resilient unit, or by changing the thickness of the resilient plug. Therefore, preciseness of the size of other component is less required to reduce the manufacturing cost.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2009Date of Patent: December 27, 2011Assignee: Shin Zu Shing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hsiang-Chi Chien

Publication number: 20100154166Abstract: A hinge is mounted between a cover and a base of an electronic device. A lid covers the hinge and is attached securely to the base. The hinge has an arced surface and a rotating shaft. When the cover is pivoted to a certain angle, the rotating shaft abuts the arced surface to lift up the cover so the cover is selectively distant away from the lid. Therefore, the shape of the electronic device does not need to be disfigured and the cover still does not bump against the lid.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 24, 2008Publication date: June 24, 2010Applicant: SHIN ZU SHING CO., LTD.Inventors: Hsiang-Chi CHIEN, Chia-Hsiang CHEN, Weiming CHEN
