  • Patent number: 10593003
Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatuses for identifying a person of interest. An exemplary method may comprise storing external data received from a variety external sources into a parameterized table, creating a first set of category views on the parameterized table, creating a second set of category views based at least in part on data to be derived from a traveler's personal information to be received, receiving the traveler's personal information generated by an input device and determining whether the traveler is a person of interest by evaluating the personal information against one or more pre-defined profiles using the first and second sets of category views. Each of the one or more pre-defined profiles may comprise one or more rules and a threshold value for determining a likelihood for the traveler to be matched in each of the one or more pre-defined profiles.

  • Publication number: 20110259415
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a backsheet for a photovoltaic module. The backsheet includes a nanocomposite layer, a first polymeric layer and a second polymeric layer. The nanocomposite layer includes a polymeric matrix and a plurality of silicate nanoparticles dispersed therein. The polymeric matrix includes at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polyester, polyimide, polyethylene terephthalate and nylon. The silicate nanoparticles are made from a silicate clay selected from the group consisting of montmorillonite, sepiolite, fluoromica and vermiculite. The silicate clay is present at a concentration of about 0.5-20% by weight of the nanocomposite layer. The nanocomposite layer is disposed between the first polymeric layer and the second polymeric layer.

  • Publication number: 20110155245
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a solar module, which includes a solar cell unit and an insulating member. The insulating member covers at least one side of the solar cell unit in thickness direction so as to extend the creepage distance along the thickness direction of the solar cell unit and is at least 8.4 mm.

  • Publication number: 20110155221
Abstract: A solar panel includes a front glass, a photovoltaic film, a back glass, an encapsulant sheet and a weather-resist filler. The photovoltaic film is formed on the front glass. The back glass has a smaller or larger area than the front glass has, but the front and back glasses generally have the same shape. The encapsulant sheet is disposed between the front and back glasses for fully sealing the photovoltaic film and binding the front and back glasses together. When the front and back glasses are overlapped and bound, all bound edges of the front and back glasses define step-like areas. The weather-resist filler is filled onto the step-like areas for fully sealing the encapsulant sheet.

  • Publication number: 20110142297
Abstract: An iris biometric image is analyzed to determine the apparent angle of the eye in the image, relative to an arbitrarily selected reference axis. The angle information is stored for use by the matching engine and/or the image data is modified to normalize the angle relative to the reference axis. In this manner, rotationally normalized data may be stored to facilitate future comparisons, and images obtained in real time may be used for iris identification in a matching engine that automatically compensates for angular variation.

  • Publication number: 20100183199
Abstract: An automated method of performing various processes and procedures includes central and/or distributed iris identification database servers that can be accessed by various stations. Each station may be equipped with a handheld staff-operated iris camera and software that can query the server to determine whether an iris image captured by the iris camera matches a person enrolled in the system. The station takes selective action depending on the identification of the person. In disclosed medical applications, the station may validate insurance coverage, locate and display a medical record, identify a procedure to be performed, verify medication to be administered, permit entry of additional information, history, diagnoses, vital signs, etc. into the patient's record, and for staff members may permit access to a secure area, permit access to computer functions, provide access to narcotics and other pharmaceuticals, enable activation of secured and potentially dangerous equipment, and other functions.
