  • Publication number: 20100023687
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for providing a customized response from disk array, which is implemented on a disk array server having disks. The method comprises steps of receiving a request packet from a front end server, determining whether the request packet is for a response of disk environment information of one of the disks, and directly providing a customized response back to the front end server when the request packet is for a response of disk environment information of one of the disks, or passing the request packet to an originally aimed disk of the disk array server when the request packet is for data access on the originally aimed disk.

  • Publication number: 20090300381
Abstract: Thin client-server architecture networks have a server and a thin client electrically connecting each. The server receives command signals from the thin client, produces respond signals respectively, and sends the respond signals back to the thin client. The server has a counter for counting a residual number, the number of the respond signals not being transmitted yet, and a power management application module. When the residual number turns zero, the power management application module sends a standby signal to a power management module of the thin client to selectively close or maintain the power of the thin client.

  • Publication number: 20090292763
Abstract: Thin client-server architecture networks have many servers and at least one thin client. Each server has a hard disk for storing environmental parameters and a synchronizing application having information of the environmental parameters. The thin client connects one of the servers through Internet and has synchronizing module for setting transport protocol with the synchronizing application, receiving the information of the environmental parameters and part of the environmental parameters. The thin client may set the environment of a user interface thereof according to the part of the environmental parameters.

  • Publication number: 20090254703
Abstract: This present invention is a disk order examining system for a dual-host redundant storage device and method thereof, implementing in a dual-host redundant storage device with a master controller and a slave controller. The invention is to examine if the linkage orders of disks to the master controller are the same as those to the slave controller by sequentially writing random values into each disk of a disk concatenation, and then reading out to discriminate their sequence.

  • Patent number: 7519069
Abstract: An IP address updating system and related method is applied to a network server having a management controller for the management controller to update IP installation information. The system includes an acquiring module, a comparing module and an updating module. The method first detects MACs of NICs attached to the network server and LAN channels of the management controller, and then compares the MACs of the NICs with the MACs of the LAN channels. When a MAC of one of the NICs is matched with a MAC of one of the LAN channels, installation fields of the matched LAN channel are updated with IP installation information of the matched NIC. Therefore, a system manager needs not to update the IP address time after time any more, and the network server has better efficiency of management.

  • Patent number: 7437435
Abstract: An automatically setting method and related system for a network communications system having a remote console is disclosed. The method provides a network serving equipment having a management controller, and connects a network serving equipment through the network communications system to the remote console. The method sets the network serving equipment in a PXE mode, and sends request instructions to request IP address to the remote console after the network serving equipment is actuated, to acquire corresponding IP address. The network serving equipment sends IP request instructions to the remote console to request corresponding network parameter setting program. Then the network serving equipment executes the network parameter setting program instruction, and sets IP address parameters of the management controller according to the acquired IP address accordingly.

  • Patent number: 7370038
Abstract: A stereographic network monitoring system is provided to display a stereographic representation of an abnormal unit in a controlled device monitored via a network, wherein the stereographic representation shows the abnormal unit and its relative position, so that a supervisor can be clearly informed the relative position of the component inside the controlled device and promptly take appropriate measures to remedy. This system includes a monitoring server, a database, at least a controlled device, a network unit and a display unit. The monitoring server is connected to the database and controlled device via the network unit. When the controlled device sends an abnormal message to the monitoring server, it can retrieve the device stereogram and basic data of the unit components of the controlled device for display in the displaying unit.

  • Publication number: 20070234032
Abstract: A system and method for chassis management is proposed. The chassis management system includes at least one server unit, a first control unit, a second control unit, and a system management bus. The system management bus connects the first control unit and the second control unit to the server unit, so as to enable the first control unit and the second control unit to manage operating conditions of the server unit. One of the first control unit and the second control unit sends a request to search for a master controller. If, within a predetermined period of time the system management bus fails to indicate a master controller address on the system management bus in response to the request, then one of the first control unit and the second control unit is configured to function as the master controller, conversely one of the first control unit and the second control unit is configured to function as the slave controller.
