  • Publication number: 20040166904
Abstract: A power saving method and a power saving mechanism for use in a wireless input device having a power supply module are proposed. The power saving mechanism has a switch module for allowing the wireless input device to enter a complete power-saving mode or an incomplete power-saving mode. The power saving mechanism further includes a control unit. If the wireless input device is not operated for a certain period of time, the control unit allows the power supply module to temporarily reduce the power supply to the wireless input device until the wireless input device is moved or any button on the wireless input device is actuated. If the wireless input device is in the complete power-saving mode, the power supply is disconnected from the power supply module to the wireless input device.

  • Publication number: 20040067737
Abstract: A wireless signal receiver for computer peripheral input devices is provided, that is capable of receiving and switching the wireless signals sent from wireless computer peripheral input devices to a computer platform connecting the wireless signal receiver. The wireless signal receiver includes a housing for accommodating a circuit module for receiving wireless signals from a wireless mouse, a wireless keyboard and a wireless gamepad, and a connector coupled to the housing and electrically interconnected with the circuit module and the computer platform, allowing the wireless signals received by the circuit module unit to be sent to the computer platform via the connector and a power source of the computer platform to be supplied to the circuit module unit. With the use of the circuit module unit, the computer platform requires merely a communication port for electrical connection with the wireless signal receiver for receiving wireless signals from various computer peripheral input devices.

  • Publication number: 20040017358
Abstract: A housing assembly for a wireless computer mouse is provided, including: a base; a housing coupled to the base to form a space for receiving electronic components for the mouse, and further having a battery compartment for receiving batteries as a power source to the mouse and a locking portion; and a cover having at least a front piece, an actuating piece, and a rear piece which are coupled atop to the housing respectively, wherein the rear piece has a locking member locked with the locking portion of the housing, and the actuating piece has an actuating member such that when the actuating piece is downwardly pushed, the actuating member can release the locking state between the locking portion of the housing and the locking member of the rear piece, and the rear piece is detached from the housing to expose the battery compartment for replacement of the batteries.

  • Patent number: 6658236
Abstract: A wireless apparatus includes a transmitter and a receiver wherein each of the transmitter and the receiver includes a phase-locked loop (PLL) having a frequency synthesizer for generating a plurality of signals with identifications. The plurality of signals are combined to form spread spectrum modulated signals prior to transmitting from the transmitter. Correspondingly, the received signals in the receiver are converted into the original signals by the frequency synthesizer. With this, it is impossible for an unauthorized party to copy such signals, thereby providing a safe wireless communication environment to the user.
