    Abstract: In a detection method for surgical drilling, an end effector mounted on a drilling machine is provided to detect whether a drill bit of the drilling machine will produce an oversized hole or an oval-shaped hole on a predetermined drill area during a drilling procedure. The end effector includes a carrier and at least one optic bundle which is provided to transmit a light to a detection point and transmit a detect light reflected from the detection point to a processor. A distance value calculated by the processor according to the detection light is provided to estimate whether a drilling strategy, such as feed rate, spindle speed and tilt angle of the drill bit, with or without pecking, needs to be adjusted before the drilling procedure.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for processing a glass sheet are disclosed. A first plurality of fluid outlets are directed at a first major surface of a glass sheet and a second plurality of fluid nozzles are directed at a second major surface of the glass sheet. The first plurality of fluid nozzles and second plurality of fluid nozzles are spaced apart at an adjustable gap, and the gap can be increased or decreased during processing the glass sheet. The apparatus and methods can be used to reduce bow in a glass sheet.

In further embodiments, apparatus for processing a glass web includes a washing device including a housing with a partition dividing an interior of the housing into a first area and a second area. In still further embodiments, apparatus for processing a glass web includes a coating chamber positioned down-stream from a washing device, wherein the coating chamber includes at least one port configured to dispense a coating on at least one major surface of the glass web. Methods can include entraining debris generated during a separation procedure into a gas curtain. Further methods include washing a glass sheet within a housing including two interior areas and coating a washed glass sheet with a protective coating.

    Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning a glass sheet moving along a conveyed direction is disclosed herein. The apparatus comprises a first plurality of spraying devices coupled to a water supply and positioned away from a first surface of the glass sheet in a first angle measured from the first surface of the glass sheet, and a control unit configured to supply water from the water supply into the first plurality of spraying devices such that the first plurality of spraying devices spray water from the water supply in a first plurality of spraying sections at the first angle over an edge of the glass sheet, thereby forming a first cleaning zone on the first surface of the glass sheet.
