  • Patent number: 6927759
Abstract: An optical mouse includes a bottom casing, a top cover mounted to the bottom casing to define an interior space. A circuit board and a lens set are located in the interior space. The bottom casing has an opening. A detecting device is mounted to the circuit board. A receiving portion and a light emitting diode (LED) are mounted to a bottom side of the detecting device in alignment with a slot in the circuit board. A solder pad to which an electrical conductor is connected has a central bore and is positioned on a circumferential margin of a light projection surface of the LED to allow light projected from the light projection surface to transmit through the central bore. The lens set is located between the circuit board and the bottom casing, and includes a reflection member and a lens.

  • Publication number: 20050093825
Abstract: An optic mouse includes a casing and a circuit board fixed inside the casing. The casing has a bottom in which a first opening is defined for receiving and fixing a lens module. The lens module includes a support fixed to the first opening and forming a carrier that carries first and second lenses and a reflection portion located adjacent to the second lens and having a top connected to a bottom of the first lens. The circuit board includes a single circuit chip having integrated therewith a light emitter and an optic sensor positioned in correspondence to the first and second lenses, respectively. With the light emitter and the optic sensor integrated in the single circuit chip, the lens module is constructed and arranged to shorten an optic path for a light beam transmitting from the light emitter to the optic sensor whereby the light beam can travel in a more concentrated manner with reduced diffraction and deterioration thereof. Thus, performance of the optic mouse is enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20050001818
Abstract: An optic mouse includes a housing having a bottom casing and a top cover mounted to the bottom casing, a circuit board mounted in the housing and a lens set mounted on the bottom casing. The bottom casing defines an opening. A detecting device is mounted to the circuit board and has a receiving portion in alignment with the opening of the bottom casing. A vertical cavity surface emitting laser source is arranged on one side of the detecting device. The lens set includes a convex lens having top and bottom faces respectively opposing the receiving portion of the detecting device and the opening of the bottom casing. The lens set further defines a channel in which a reflection member is formed. The channel has an open end opposing the vertical cavity surface emitting laser source for receiving optic signals from the laser source.

  • Publication number: 20040246232
Abstract: An optic mouse includes a housing having a bottom casing and a top cover mounted to the bottom casing, a circuit board mounted in the housing and a splitter mounted on the bottom casing. The bottom casing defines an opening. A detecting device is mounted to the circuit board and has a receiving portion in alignment with the opening of the bottom casing. A laser source is arranged on one side of the detecting device. The splitter has top and bottom faces respectively opposing the receiving portion of the detecting device and the opening of the bottom casing and a side face opposite to the laser source. By this, a light beam from the laser source is made convergent and is prevented from divergence by making use of the polarity characteristics of the light from the laser source and the splitter. Excellent operability of the mouse can be realized.
