    Abstract: A video playback apparatus includes a magnetic head, a transmission device and a memorizing device. The magnetic head is in contact with and rotates on a tape of a magnetic videotape to read data to be shown on a display in a reading procedure, and is separate from the tape of the magnetic videotape in a pause state. The transmission device engages with the tape of the magnetic videotape for guiding the tape to be in contact with or separate from the magnetic head, and transmits the tape to pass the magnetic head in the reading procedure. The memorizing device memorizes and outputs the latest frame data to the display in the pause state.

    Abstract: An apparatus for decoding compressed images is disclosed. A compressed file decoder is added in the apparatus for decreasing the load on a CPU and increasing the speed of decoding a compressed file. Furthermore, a pipeline structure is used in designing the elements of the compressed file decoder. Therefore, after a compressed file is received by the compressed file decoder, each of the elements of the compressed file decoder sequentially executes to decode the compressed file to generate a corresponding decoded image data. Hence, when displaying the image corresponding to the compressed file, the quality of image display on a TV screen can be substantially improved, and the situation in which image display idles or delays will occur less.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses an apparatus and method for controlling a disc player. The disc player comprises at least one optical drive and a card reader. Image files output by the card reader are transferred to video signals and showed on TV screen for editing. Furthermore, the disclosed disc player has a function of time division multiplexing. When disc player is operating in a soundless operation mode and there is a music disc loaded in the optical drive, the disc player will play the music disc at the same time. In this way, the user can listen to the music by using a music disc loaded into the optical drive when the disc player is operated in the soundless operation mode.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a feedrate controlling method and apparatus for controlling a wire-cutting electric discharging machine (WEDM) to operate at optimal feedrate. In the apparatus, a discharge frequency counter is used to count the frequency of normal discharge and the frequency of abnormal discharge, from which two performance indexes: stability percent (STB) and efficiency percent (EFF) are obtained. These two performance indexes allow the apparatus to use a decision table to obtain an optimal feedrate variation used to change the current feedrate so as to operate the WEDM with maximum stability and efficiency.

The device includes two switching transistors controlled by a control unit according to the comparison result between a reference voltage and the voltage measured between the wire electrode and the workpiece being processed.
