    Abstract: A method of selling a product online over the Internet is to be performed by a server device, and includes the steps of: a) configuring the server device to receive customer-identification information from at least one customer who has decided to purchase the product; b) configuring the server device to associate at least one of a plurality of identifiers with the customer-identification information; c) configuring the server device to select at least one of the identifiers according to a predetermined scheme when a predetermined termination condition is satisfied; and d) configuring the server device to conduct, with the at least one customer, transaction for the product. Whether or not a benefit associated with purchase of the product is provided to the at least one customer is based on the selected identifiers.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-function optical fiber jumper box, and more particularly a jumper box of a jumper device that serves as a relay jumper coupling for optical fiber signal transmission, which is provided with functions including visual signal inspection and jumper cable protection. The jumper box is mainly structured from transparent plates, the interior of which is partitioned by way of partitioning plates forming a power input pin contact hole and a power output pin contact hole. A rear side of the jumper box forms an open cable wrap end, which enables wrapping round and coupling of a cable, and a light beam transmitted by the jumper cable undergoes a din effect on the outer surface of the plates to enable external inspection of the signal conducting state; moreover, protection is provided against excessive bending of the optical fiber.

    Abstract: A turning tool (12) is inserted into the forward end of an outer housing (26) and its turning tips (18) are moved into tip receiving openings (24) at the base of the flange (26). The turning too (12) is both pushed and rotated. The pushing moves the flange (46) back from the flange (24). The rotation rotates the inner housing (28), a ferrule (20) and an end portion of the cable, including an optical fiber (F) that is within the center line opening (78) in the ferrule (20). After the components have been rotated to provide a desired rotational position, the turning tool (12) is removed. Friction forces between the flange (46) and the flange (24) and between the cylindrical surface (48) and the cylindrical opening within the key ring (52) hold the components in the azimuthal position that was established.

A key (34) extends axially forwardly from ring (32). The ring (32) makes a loose fit in rearward girth groove (52) and a tight, interference fit with forward girth groove (50). Initially, with the ring (32) in the rearward girth groove (52), the plug (10) is moved into the socket (30) and the key (34) is started into key slot (36).

    Abstract: A buffering sleeve (46) is slid onto an outer end portion of an optical fiber cable (12) that includes an optical fiber surrounded by a buffer covering (16). The buffering sleeve (46) is crimped onto the buffer covering (16). A bared length of optical fiber (14) extends endwise outwardly from the buffering sleeve (46), into and through a center opening (40) in a ferrule (38) that is at the outer end of a connector fitting (10). Connector fitting (10) includes an inwardly opening inner socket (34) that snugly receives the buffer sleeve (46). The inner end portion of the inner socket (34) is crimped onto an inner end portion (52) of the buffering sleeve (46). The bared optical fiber (14) projects forwardly through center opening (40) in ferrule (38). Outwardly of the ferrule (38), the optical fiber (14) is cleaved and polished, flush with the outer end (39) of the ferrule (38).

    Abstract: A first coupler part (12) is fastened to a wall (W) by a first pair of screw fasteners (32, 34). The screw fasteners (32, 34) have heads that bear against surface portions of the first coupler part (12) that immediately surround openings (28, 30) that receive the screw fasteners (32, 34). A second coupler part (14) is connectable to the surface (20) of first coupler part (20) that is directed away from the wall (W). When the second coupler part (14) is moved against the first coupler part (12), the heads of the screw fasteners (32, 34) enter into enlarged openings (68, 70) in the second coupler part (14). This allows the surface (48) of the second coupler part (14) to be moved against the surface (20) of the first coupler part (12). The second pair of fasteners (40, 42) are used to connect the second coupler part (14) to the first coupler part (12). Or, the second screw fasteners (40, 42) may extend through openings in the first coupler part and screw into openings in the wall (W).

    Abstract: The modular optical fiber connector includes a ferrule body with a ferrule attached to the front end and a buffer back post extending from the rear end. The ferrule body is permitted to move longitudinally relative to an insert which receives the ferrule and engages the front end of the ferrule body but is restrained against rotation. A coil spring is installed onto the buffer back post of the ferrule body, and engages a connector body that is utilized to internally hold the ferrule body, the insert and the coil spring. A connector nut is a hollow component that has a limiter on the interior wall. The ferrule body and insert in the connector body are inserted into one end of the connector nut and a fastening ring is inserted into the other end of the connector nut, and onto the connector body which is permitted to have longitudinal movement relative to the connector nut within a limited range.

    Abstract: A nondisconnectable fiber optic connector assembly includes two fiber optic connectors and an interconnection assembly for joining the two connectors. Each connector has a connector nut and a connector body axially movable within the housing. A ferrule is provided within the connector body for retaining the fiber. The ferrules and connector bodies are axially movable with respect to the interconnection assembly and the connector nuts, and the ferrules are biased toward each other to hold the fibers in contact. The biasing also allows one ferrule to follow its mating ferrule in the event of outwardly directed axial movement of the mating ferrule. A stop member within each connector limits the outwardly directed axial movement of each ferrule, thereby preventing the optical connection from disconnecting.
