  • Patent number: 9082315
Abstract: A surrounding bird view image generation method for use in an automobile-side device of an articulated vehicle is provided. The articulated vehicle includes a first body part, a second body part and a connection part. The proceeding directions of the first and the second body parts form an angle. The image processing method includes the steps of: storing an angle-to-surrounding-image model table; detecting an angle and providing an angle measurement; accessing the angle-to-surrounding-image model table to obtain a selected angle and a selected surrounding image model corresponding to the angle measurement; capturing 6 adjacent images corresponding to the surrounding of the vehicle body by the image capturers disposed on the 6 surrounding sides of the articulated vehicle; obtaining a practical operating surrounding image by processing the first to the sixth images with the selected surrounding image model.

  • Patent number: 8823796
Abstract: An adaptive surrounding view monitoring apparatus and a method thereof are disclosed, in which the apparatus uses a steerable camera set to take horizontal images while sending the horizontal images to a control unit where they are combined into an image of 180-degree or 360-degree surrounding view. It is noted that the surrounding view image maybe an image of front surrounding view, an image of rear surrounding view or an image of ambient surrounding view relating to a vehicle, and using that, visual blind spot of a driver driving the vehicle can be eliminated and the field of vision is widened, and thereby, the probability of accident occurring is reduced.

  • Patent number: 8446471
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for generating a surrounding seamless bird-view image with distance assistance interface, which process a plurality of surrounding images associated with a carrier captured by different image sensing devices. After that, an assistant marking is determined according to the relationship between acquired image space and the real space and thereby is formed on the surrounding seamless bird-view image so as to assist the driver in the carrier for avoiding collision or events affecting the safety being occurred.

  • Patent number: 8242895
Abstract: A method and system for forming a surrounding seamless bird-view image by processing a plurality of surrounding images associated with a carrier captured by different imaging devices is provided in the present invention. During the process, the surrounding images are converted into corresponding bird-images respectively and then an overlapping area corresponding to each two adjacent bird-view images is determined. After that, distances between the pixel in the overlapping area and the boundary of the overlapping area in each adjacent bird-view image is calculated so as to determine a weighting value for each corresponding pixel in each adjacent bird-view image thereby forming an overlapping image, wherein each pixel in the overlapping image is determined according to the weighting value and information of the corresponding pixel in each adjacent image. After determining the overlapping image for each two adjacent bird-view image, it is capable of forming the surrounding seamless bird-view image.
