  • Patent number: 8521926
Abstract: A desktop sharing and remote control system where the server (the computer being controlled) and the client (the computer controlling the server) are connected by a connecting device using the USB protocol. The connecting device includes a control unit (MCU) and two USB controllers. The MCU transfers data between the two USB controllers. The server-side USB controller emulates a USB CD-ROM/keyboard/mouse composite device; the client-side USB controller emulates a USB CD-ROM. The server continuously writes video data (desktop image) to the server-side emulated CD-ROM and the client continuously reads the data from the client-side emulated CD-ROM and applies it to its monitor. Keyboard and mouse data is transferred in the opposite direction via the client-side emulated CD-ROM and server-side emulated keyboard and mouse devices. The connecting device stores applications programs to be automatically executed by the server and client using auto-run functions of the emulated CD-ROMs to accomplish plug-and-play.

  • Publication number: 20090094395
Abstract: A KVM switch system is disclosed where the KVM switch is connected to data terminals of the computers to receive various data from the computers, such as system information of the computers, multimedia data retrieved from the computers, information downloaded from the Internet such as stock quotes, etc. Each computer executes a data generation program to generate the data. The KVM switch generates images based on the received data. The images may show data from all computers simultaneously. In one embodiment, the KVM switch has a touch screen panel to display the images. In another embodiment, the KVM switch generates the images and combines them with desktop images from a computer, and the combined image is displayed on the console monitor connected to the KVM switch. The KVM switch may emulate a CD-ROM for each computer and uses an auto-run file to load the data generation programs to the computer.

  • Publication number: 20090077222
Abstract: The invention discloses KVM switches comprising a body, a data transceiver, a micro control unit, and a display disposed on the body. The data transceiver receives data from a plurality of computers. The micro control unit analyzes and operates the received data to generate an image. The image may show data from all computers in chorus. The display displays the image. The data provided by the computers are generated by application programs of the computers. The application program may retrieve system information of the corresponding computer as the data, retrieve discs of the corresponding computer to get the data, or download information from the internet as the data.
