  • Publication number: 20200320198
Abstract: An example device comprises a plurality of components and a BIOS includes a non-volatile memory having instructions stored thereon that are executable by a processor of the device to cause the BIOS to determine a component identification (ID) of a component of the plurality of components, and fetch a plurality of recall component IDs. The instructions also are to cause the BIOS to compare the determined component ID with the plurality of recall component IDs. In response to a correspondence between the determined component ID and one recall component ID of the plurality of component IDs, the BIOS is to transmit signals representing a prompt to place the component of the plurality of components in a safety mode. The instructions also cause the BIOS to receive signals in response to the prompt and, responsive to the received signals, disable the component of the plurality of components.

  • Publication number: 20180310392
Abstract: An anti-electrostatic wrist strap and a ground detection device are provided so as to prevent misjudgment resulted from a wrist strap wearer's skin being too dry. The wrist strap includes a resistor having resistance R connected between the wrist strap's two wires. Therefore a tolerance range is created when monitoring whether the wrist strip has an appropriate resistance. Similarly, the detection device includes a resistor having resistance R parallel-connected to its detection circuit to a wrist strap. A tolerance range is created when monitoring whether the wrist strip has an appropriate resistance. By the wrist strap or the detection device, the chance of misjudgment is effectively reduced. To further enhance electrostatic protection, the detection device includes a power provision interface and an electrical switch so that, only when the electrostatic leakage circuit has an appropriate resistance, the electrical switch enables the power provision interface to supply electricity to related apparatuses.

  • Publication number: 20120107956
Abstract: Disclosed herein are indirect lateral flow sandwich assays, in which the target analyte binds an analyte-specific reagent comprising a first member of a conjugate pair, forming a complex which contacts and binds a colored particulate label comprising a complementary member of said conjugate pair, forming a second complex. Capture of this analyte-comprising, second complex by an immobilized analyte specific capture reagent results in the formation of an immobilized labeled sandwich complex that can be detected.

  • Patent number: 8138937
Abstract: The present invention provides a device to monitor whether a work station operator has properly worn a grounding mechanism, and a novel cascading means to chain multiple devices into a chain for sharing electricity and ground. The present invention could achieve the following functions: (1) capable of monitoring both single-wire and two-wire grounding mechanisms; (2) providing backup grounding through the chain so that the static electricity discharging capability is maintained as long as a single device in the chain remains connected to the ground; (3) extending the ground through the chain so that grounding is not required to be previously prepared at every work station; (4) sustaining all devices on the chain by a single external power supply; and (5) providing networking connectivity through the chain's cascading cables so that the network cabling cost and effort is significantly reduced.

  • Publication number: 20090167546
Abstract: The device detects whether an operator of a work station has properly worn a wrist strap or other ground mechanism. A major characteristic of the device is that a wireless energy transmission and detection mechanism is incorporated to sense if the operator is present in front of the work station. The device monitors the resistance of a discharge circuit composed of the operator's wrist strap. If the monitored resistance is not in a proper range, the device will automatically issue alarms, only if the wireless energy transmission and detection has sensed that the operator is indeed at the work station. Another characteristic of the device is that two or more of them could be signally connected to a centralized monitoring console through a network. As such, a user is able to remotely monitor the grounding conditions of all work stations.

  • Patent number: 7525317
Abstract: A real-time multi-point ground resistance monitoring device is provided herein to simultaneously monitor ground resistances of different work stations. The present invention mainly contains a number of monitoring ports connected to multiple test ground points in parallel via conductive wires respectively. Each monitoring port is configured with a safety range of acceptable ground resistances and a presentation manner of the alarm when the measured ground resistance of a monitoring port exceeds the safe range. The monitoring device has a self-correction function to automatically offset the resistance of conductive wire from the measurement result when the conductive wire is too long. The monitoring device can further contain a network interface allowing remote operation and monitoring.

  • Patent number: 7246640
Abstract: A fuel-discharge protection system is provided herein to prevent electrostatic hazard when a tank truck is discharging fuel into a reservoir. This invention mainly contains an oil-valve switch device, a driving device, and an electrostatic detection and control device. The fuel is discharged from the tank truck into the reservoir through the oil-valve switch device. The electrostatic detection and control device monitors the ground resistance and the electrostatic voltage of the tank truck during the entire process of fuel discharge. The electrostatic detection and control device, by controlling the driving device, opens the valve of the oil-valve switch device to allow fuel discharged into the reservoir only when the ground resistance and the electrostatic voltage of the tank truck are within respective safety ranges.

  • Patent number: 5457596
Abstract: A static electricity protection wrist strap comprises a casing inside which a conductive plate is mounted. The conductive plate has serrated side extensions for engaging a strap extending from one side of the casing, around the wrist of a user and back to connect to the other side of the casing. A grounding wire in electrical connection with the conductive plate provides the static electricity protection wrist strap a grounding connection. A static electricity detection device comprises a detection plate which constitutes a capacitor with the skin of the wrist wearing the wrist strap and a processing unit for detecting the variation of the capacitor. The processing unit comprises a beeper which will be actuated to send out a warning signal when an increase of the static electricity collected on the wrist skin is detected.
