  • Patent number: 7108678
Abstract: A captive cover for a hypodermic needle of an IV tube assembly has an elongated body connected to an element of the IV tube assembly. The elongated body is hollow and has a proximal opening, a closed distal end, a chamber, at least one locking tab and one or more optional connectors. The hypodermic needle of the IV tube assembly can be inserted through the proximal opening into the chamber. A flange on the hypodermic needle of the IV tube assembly is held in the captive cover by the locking tab. Since the hypodermic needle of the IV tube assembly only passes through the locking tab of the elongated body, the hypodermic needle of the IV tube assembly can be conveniently inserted into the elongated body. The captive cover can accommodate an ordinary hypodermic needle and has a simple structure.

  • Patent number: 6979314
Abstract: A safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a plunger, a connector, a plug and a needle hub. The plunger has a protrusion extended from the plunger and along a longitudinal axis of the plunger. The connector is mounted around the protrusion of the plunger. Multiple limit stubs and multiple curved limit channels communicating with a corresponding notch with an inclined side-wall are respectively formed on the connector and a connecting chamber in a connecting tube of the needle hub. When the plunger is being pushed towards the needle hub, the multiple limit stubs respectively pass through the corresponding curved limit channel and are contained in the corresponding notch. The inclined side-wall of the notch will stably connect the limit stub so the plunger can stably retract the needle hub in the hollow barrel.

  • Patent number: 6976975
Abstract: A safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a plunger, a connector, a plug and a needle hub. The plunger includes a socket to mount the connector. The connector has a needle connector protruded from the connector to connect with the needle hub. When the plunger is pushed toward the needle hub the first time, the needle hub of the connector is hidden in the socket and the plunger can not connect with the needle hub. When the plunger is pulled back and the syringe is full of medical solution, the needle hub of the connector protrudes from the socket. Pushing the plunger again toward the needle hub can connect the plunger and the needle hub together and the needle hub can retract back in the hollow barrel.

  • Patent number: 6936027
Abstract: A safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a needle hub and a plunger. The hollow barrel has a distal end, a proximal end, a cone-shaped end formed on the proximal end with an opening. The plunger has a proximal end and a needle retractor formed on the proximal end. The needle hub with a needle is detachably mounted inside the proximal end of the hollow barrel and has an axial fitting to engage the plunger. When the safety syringe is used, the plunger connects to the needle hub and is pulled toward the distal end of the hollow barrel to draw the needle hub with the needle inside the hollow barrel to keep people from being hurt or infected by an exposed needle.

  • Publication number: 20050148944
Abstract: A syringe safety sleeve has an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve. The inner sleeve selectively attaches to a conventional syringe and is slidably mounted inside the outer sleeve. The outer sleeve has an open proximal end and an open distal end. The inner sleeve has an open proximal end, an open distal end and a barrel connector formed on the open distal end. The open proximal end of the outer sleeve is selectively connected to the open proximal end of the inner sleeve when the outer sleeve is pull out from the inner sleeve. The barrel connector of the inner sleeve attaches to a conventional syringe. The syringe safety sleeve can accommodate ordinary syringes with no safety device to protect the used needle. The syringe safety sleeve can be conveniently connected to the syringe and has a simple structure.

  • Publication number: 20050080380
Abstract: A safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a seal, a needle hub and a plunger. The plunger is mounted in the hollow barrel and has a needle retractor at one end. The seal has an axial circular through hole that is mounted around the plunger and has multiple detents. The hollow barrel has an inside surface and the seal has an outside surface, which correspond to each other and are non-circular. The plunger has detent protrusions corresponding to the detents in the seal to selectively hold the plunger is position. The needle hub with a needle is detachably mounted inside the hollow barrel and has an axial locking opening to engage the plunger. Since the plunger will not accidentally rotate, the protruding head on the plunger can be inserted precisely into the locking chamber of the needle hub and either engage or be withdrawn from the axial locking opening.
