    Abstract: An optical film is provided. The optical film includes a substrate, a first transmission medium, second transmission medium, and a reflective polarizing film. The first transmission medium is disposed at the front surface of the substrate and includes a plurality of embossed microlenses. The second transmission medium is disposed at the rear surface of the substrate and comprises a plurality of V-shaped prisms. The reflective polarizing film is disposed at the front surface of the first transmission medium. The substrate, the first transmission medium, and the second transmission medium are bounded to each other to form a unitary sheet.

    Abstract: A method for controlling backlight and a backlight module are provided. A backlight module separated into a central illumination area and peripheral illumination areas and including a plurality of light sources is provided. The central illumination area and the peripheral illumination areas are corresponding to at least one light source respectively. First driving signals is input to the backlight module, so as a second brightness generated by each peripheral illumination area is smaller than a first brightness generated by the central illumination area. An operation is performed according to each first driving signal, the first brightness, and the second brightness, so as to obtain a second driving signal. The first driving signals and the second driving signals are input to the backlight module, so as to drive the light elements. Therefore, the brightness of the central illumination area is close to that of the peripheral illumination areas.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) and a back light module are provided. The back light module includes a light guide plate (LGP) and a plurality of light-emitting devices. The LGP has a plurality of partitioning grooves, a bottom surface, a light exiting surface, a first side and a second side. The bottom surface is opposite to the light exiting surface. The first side and the second side are located at the two opposite side surfaces of the LGP. The extension direction of each of the partitioning grooves extends from the first side towards the second side. Each of the partitioning grooves has an opening and the opening is located at the bottom surface. The plurality of light-emitting devices are disposed at least one of the first side and the second side. The liquid crystal panel of the LCD is disposed at the light exiting surface.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal panel module, a backlight module and a liquid crystal display (LCD) are provided. The liquid crystal panel module includes a liquid crystal panel and a diffraction grating layer. The liquid crystal panel has a plurality of pixels. The diffraction grating layer is disposed on the liquid crystal panel, and a maximum period of a grating of the diffraction grating layer is smaller than 1/10 of a size of the pixels. The backlight module includes a light guide plate, a light emitting element and a diffraction grating film. A light provided by the light emitting element emits from a light emitting surface of the light guide plate and is bended towards the light emitting element after passing through the diffraction grating film. The liquid crystal panel module and the backlight module can be applied to the LCD together or individually.
