Patent number: 8203013Abstract: A method for making a fatty acid mineral salt is disclosed where liquid oils containing fatty acids are hydrolyzed using a base solution. A buffering agent is added to the hydrolyzed solution to maintain pH between 8.0 and 11.0 followed by a water soluble metal salt solution which causes a metathesis reaction with the hydrolyzed solution, forming a precipitates of fatty acid metal salts which are glycerin-free. The precipitates are filtered, washed and subsequently dried. The produced fatty acid metal salt is easier for the human body to digest than omega-3 fatty acid in oil form and also is less prone to oxidation and emitting of unpleasant odor.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2008Date of Patent: June 19, 2012Assignee: JH Biotech, Inc.Inventors: Hsinhung John Hsu, Sergejs Trusovs, Tatjana Popova

Publication number: 20020103084Abstract: The present invention is directed to a concentrated natural pesticide which contains a soybean component. The soybean component can be soybean extract, soybean slurry, soybean powder, or soybean paste. The soybean component is typically diluted with water and then sprayed onto plants to act as an insecticide or to control plant diseases. The concentrated natural pesticide can also comprise a soybean component and a second component which is selected from a group of oils, or an aldehyde such as cinnamic aldehyde. Although foliar application of the diluted pesticide is the preferred application, soil application can also be used.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2001Publication date: August 1, 2002Inventors: Hsinhung John Hsu, Chun-Hua Chang
-
Publication number: 20010055628Abstract: The present invention is directed to a natural pesticide, which comprises two oil components. The first component is selected from at least one of the volatile oils and the other component is selected from at least one of the non-volatile oils. Mixing of these two oil components greatly increases the effectiveness for use as a pesticide than if the oils were used separately.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2001Publication date: December 27, 2001Inventors: Hsinhung John Hsu, Chun-Hua Chang
