  • Patent number: 8717291
Abstract: A wireless wrist mouse, used with an apparatus including a display having a cursor, has a body mountable to a user's hand/wrist by wrist mounting structure. A motion sensor and motion circuitry are carried by the body and are operably connected to one another. The motion circuitry includes a library of command motions. The motion circuitry is constructed to generate first and second command signals corresponding to the first and second command motions when the body has been moved in predetermined manners for receipt by and operation of the apparatus. The first command signals correspond to cursor movement directions for controlling movement of the cursor over the display. The second command signals correspond to control functions for the apparatus. In some examples, the motion sensor comprises a MEMS sensor. In some examples, the motion sensor comprises a translational, rotational, and vibrational movement motion sensor.

  • Patent number: 8459114
Abstract: A multi-axis capacitive accelerometer is disclosed. A first mass is disposed and held by an anchor supported by a substrate, wherein the first mass is asymmetrically suspended on the anchor by means of two cantilevers, so that the first mass rotates about a rotation axis, for sensing the acceleration in a first direction perpendicular to the substrate. A second mass is disposed in the first mass and suspended on the first mass by means of a set of springs to sense the acceleration in a second direction parallel to the substrate. Furthermore, a third mass can be disposed in the second mass, wherein the third mass is suspended on the second mass by means of another set of springs to sense the acceleration in a third direction. • Patent number: 8081783
Abstract: A technique using a new diaphragm structure and support design is provided herein for microphones or structure designs for pressure sensing. The structure includes a set of capacitive structures. The capacitive structure has a combination of a diaphragm structure, a back plate structure and a surrounding micro-structure for fixing the diaphragm. After the diaphragm structure has deformed due to a pressure load, a gap between the back plate and the diaphragm is changed accordingly, and variation occurs in the capacitance value between the two parallel plates. By using the principle of the effect of capacitance value variation, the capacitive sensor causes the capacitance value to vary with the change in the sound, thus accomplishing the object of measuring.

  • Patent number: 7701619
Abstract: A scanning module is used in a scanner with a glass for placing documents. The scanning module contains a convergent lens set comprised of lenses with different curvatures and a long-stripe shape lined up from a reflector, and starting with the reflector, the lengths of the lenses are shorter and shorter one by one. All the light reflected by the document can be converged by the convergent lens set to an image sensor so that an optimal image completely falls in the image sensor. The convergent lens set shortens the length of the scanning module, rendering a compact scanner.

  • Patent number: 7339618
Abstract: A method for compensating image chromatism is provided. As each RGB channel has different wavelength and refractive index, image dispersion will always occur when capturing an image from a lens. If the image dispersion is excessive, it will produce image chromatism more easily. In order to solve that, we employ the disclosed method to improve the image dispersion of each RGB channel when capturing the image from the lens using a computer program. We can further achieve the goal of image chromatism compensation.
