  • Patent number: 11886700
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing computer implemented services using user input are disclosed. To obtain the user input, a human interface device may be used. Interpretation of actuation of the human interface device may be based on a location of the human interface device relative to a sensing system when the actuation is performed. Sensing elements integrated into the sensing system may be used to obtain user input from the human interface device at the location, the user input then being interpreted based on the location to provide the computer implemented services.

  • Patent number: 11875605
Abstract: Security on an information handling system may be improved by using a stylus. A stylus provides unique information about a user that may not be acquired by an information handling system through other methods. For example, a user's handwriting is often unique to that user and may provide a security check on the information handling system to confirm the user's identity. Further, the stylus is usually held in the user's hand and may be used to check the user's fingerprint to confirm the user's identity. These authentication techniques, including fingerprinting and handwriting, may be used to maintain persistent authentication while the user is using the stylus. As the user continues to interact with the information handling system with the stylus, the stylus continues to receive the user's fingerprint and handwriting, which may be checked to confirm the user of the information handling system is still the expected user.

  • Patent number: 11836314
Abstract: An apparatus includes a memory and one or more processors coupled to the memory. The one or more processors are configured to determine a plurality of input areas of a touchpad associated with a computing device. The touchpad is associated with a sensitivity setting that indicates a first sensitivity for a first input area of the touchpad and that further indicates a second sensitivity for a second input area of the touchpad that is different than the first input area. The one or more processors are further configured to receive user input from a user input device associated with the computing device. The one or more processors are further configured to change the sensitivity setting based on the user input. Changing the sensitivity setting includes reducing the first sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 11822387
Abstract: A tablet information handling system selectively couples to a charging stand and charging dock with opposing sets of spaced magnets to have magnetic attraction hold a wireless charging receiver aligned with a wireless charger. Magnetic attraction is greatest when the tablet information handling system couples in a landscape or portrait orientation and is reduced for removal of the tablet information handling system by rotating to an offset orientation so that magnets align with opposing spaces, resulting in a reduced magnetic attraction. A sensor disposed in a space detects the offset rotation by detecting the increased magnetic flux of the magnet aligning with the space so that a user interface can provide an end user with an indication that the tablet information handling system is positioned for separation from the charging stand or charging dock.

  • Patent number: 11797176
Abstract: A computing device may segment an input area of an user input device (e.g., the surface of a trackpad) into multiple subsets. At a given time, the computing device may use one of the multiple subsets for mapping to a display device (e.g., instead of mapping the entire input area to the display device). To illustrate, based on receiving user input in one of the multiple subsets, the computing device may map that subset to the display device so that the subset is represented at the display device (e.g., without representing the other subsets at the display device). By segmenting the input area, an aspect ratio of a segment may be matched to an aspect area of the display device. Accordingly, distortions associated with an aspect ratio mismatch between the input area and the display device may be reduced or avoided.

  • Publication number: 20230031480
Abstract: A control method for tracking a camera include following steps. At least one image involving a calibration chart is captured by a camera. A first trackable device attached to the camera is tracked by a tracking station to generate a first rotation-translation matrix. A second trackable device attached to the calibration chart is tracked by the tracking station to generate a second rotation-translation matrix. A third rotation-translation matrix is generated according to the calibration chart appeared in the at least one image. A fourth rotation-translation matrix is calculated between the camera coordinate system and the first trackable device according to the first rotation-translation matrix, the second rotation-translation matrix and the third rotation-translation matrix. The fourth rotation-translation matrix is utilized to track the camera.
