    Abstract: An optical system affixed to an electronic apparatus is provided, including a first optical module, a second optical module, and a third optical module. The first optical module is configured to adjust the moving direction of a first light from a first moving direction to a second moving direction, wherein the first moving direction is not parallel to the second moving direction. The second optical module is configured to receive the first light moving in the second moving direction. The first light reaches the third optical module via the first optical module and the second optical module in sequence. The third optical module includes a first photoelectric converter configured to transform the first light into a first image signal.

    Abstract: A method of writing a spiral track on a disk of a disk drive is disclosed. A plurality of reference tracks are written on the disk. A head is moved over the reference tracks to generate a read signal comprising a plurality of peak signals, wherein each peak signal corresponds to a reference track crossing. At least one of a starting radial location and a velocity profile is adjusted in response to a distribution of the peak signals, and the spiral track is written on the disk using the starting radial location and the velocity profile. In one embodiment, the distribution of the peak signals represents a uniform and a non-uniform expansion of a mechanical component.

    Abstract: A method is disclosed for writing M spiral tracks (i=1 to M) to a disk of a disk drive. A head is positioned over a first radial location to write a concentric reference track comprising N concentric servo sectors. Prior to writing one of the spiral tracks, the concentric reference track is read and a position error signal first_PESi(j) is generated for at least one of the servo sectors j in the concentric reference track, wherein the first_PESi(j) represents an offset of the head from the first radial location, and the servo sector j corresponds to a circumferential location of the spiral track. At least one of a starting radial location and a velocity profile is adjusted in response to the first_PESi(j), and the spiral track is written to the disk using the starting radial location and the velocity profile.

    Abstract: The base of a disk drive defines an interior shroud surface. The interior shroud surface is configured to follow a portion of the curvature of the disk at a distance from the outer diameter of the disk. The interior shroud surface of the base may define one or more channels for modifying the airflow developed as the disk rotates. The interior shroud surface defines an opening to enable the head stack assembly to pivot over the disk, which opening is bounded by a leading shroud portion and a trailing shroud portion. The leading shroud portion and/or the trailing shroud portion may also define a channel or channels for modifying the airflow that is developed as the disk rotates.

    Abstract: A disk drive includes a spindle motor assembly mounted on an enclosure and at least two disks. The disks are mounted on a hub of the spindle motor assembly. Each of the disks have a magnetic medium deposited between an inner circumference and an outer circumference. The disks define a volume therebetween wherein airflow is generated when the disks rotate. The disk drive also includes an airflow spoiler positioned between the disks. The airflow spoiler has a spoiler mounting portion and a non-data bearing extending portion. The spoiler mounting portion is configured to be mounted on the hub of the spindle motor assembly. The non-data bearing extending portion is connected to the spoiler mounting portion and extends outwardly therefrom into the volume defined between the disks. The non-data bearing extending portion extends at least partially over the magnetic medium.
