Patent number: 8157260Abstract: A roller module is adapted for use with an automatic document feeder, and is adapted for feeding of a document sheet therethrough. The roller module comprises a first roller, a second roller disposed adjacent to and parallel to the first roller and cooperating with the first roller to define a nip, a driven component co-rotatable with the first roller, and a driving component rotatable for abutting against and driving the driven component to rotate, thereby permitting feeding of the document sheet through the nip. During rotation of the driving component, the document sheet is brought into contact with the first and second rollers for a predetermined time period to perform skew correction before the driving component rotates the driven component.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2008Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignees: Silitek Electronic (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., Lite-On Technology Corp.Inventors: Chen-Tsai Tsai, Hsueh-Chou Hsu, Chia-Chun Li

Patent number: 7681882Abstract: A de-skew mechanism, in an image forming device, with a correcting member disposed in a rotatable manner to the rotary shaft and turning with driving roller by a spring between them. A torque spring suppresses the turning of the correcting member to correct the skew of the medium. When conveyed, the medium will butt against the correcting member to be stopped and corrected. The medium conveying force and the force that the spring brings to the driving roller are sufficient for turning the correcting member and passing therethrough. At one time, the force that the correcting member brings to the medium will reduce to zero. As such, the medium will not be damaged by the correcting member while being conveyed.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2008Date of Patent: March 23, 2010Assignees: Silitek Electronic (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., Lite-On Technology Corp.Inventors: Chang-Lung Yu, Chen-Tsai Tsai, Hsueh-Chou Hsu, Tien-Ho Hsu

Publication number: 20090190976Abstract: An automatic document feeder includes a first path extending from a feeding tray to a scanning module, a second path extending from the scanning module to a reversing roller unit, and a third path extending from the reversing roller unit to an intermediate portion of the first path. A document is moved from the feeding tray onto the reversing roller unit via the first and second paths for a first scanning. Just before the document is moved through the second path, the reversing roller unit is driven to allow the document to move therethrough. Subsequently, the document is reversed on the reversing roller unit to move through a looped passage defined by the third path, a portion of the first path downstream of the intermediate portion, and the second path for a second scanning. The reversing roller unit is operable to allow two opposite edges of the document to move thereon in different directions.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2008Publication date: July 30, 2009Inventors: Chen-Tsai Tsai, Keng-Wei Shih, Hsueh-chou Hsu, Tien-Ho Hsu
