  • Publication number: 20240143407
Abstract: Embodiments relate to container resource autoscaling by a control plane. According to an aspect, a computer-implemented method includes receiving and intercepting a request from a software application by a proxy, the request for a service provided by a backend service of one or more control plane components. A processing device of the proxy determines, based on the intercepted request, an amount of resources to be assigned to or updated in the backend service. The processing device causes a control plane scaler coupled to the one or more control plane components to request the determined amount of resources for the backend service. Upon receiving a confirmation that the determined amount of resources is available in the backend service, the processing device forwards from the proxy, the intercepted request to the backend service.

  • Patent number: 11961302
Abstract: A system for proctoring online exams includes a client-side computing system and a visual analytics system. The client-side computing system includes a camera configured to obtain video data corresponding to a user while taking an exam and one or more input devices configured to obtain interaction data, wherein the interaction data includes mouse movements of the user while taking the exam. The visual analytics system is configured to obtain the video data and the interaction data from the client-side computing system, analyze the exam data to detect abnormal behavior by the user based at least in part on mouse movement data, and generate one or more visualizations of the analyzed exam data to be used in determining whether or not the user has cheated during the exam.

  • Patent number: 11952472
Abstract: The disclosure discloses a preparation method and product of carbon fiber reinforced polymer composites with a designable characteristic structure. The method includes: (a) choosing carbon fabrics as raw material, where a predetermined number of the fabrics are selected to deposit the reinforcement phase; (b) coating all carbon fabrics with resin matrix, placing the fabrics layer by layer, where the carbon fabrics with the reinforcement phases are placed in a predetermined layer, meanwhile a micro power supply is placed in a setting layer during the stacking process, then a prefabricated product is obtained; (c) placing the prefabricated product in a vacuum bag then evacuating and sealing, hot pressing the sealed prefabricated product, finally the carbon fiber reinforced polymer composite product in the vacuum bag after hot pressing is successfully manufactured.

  • Publication number: 20160257889
Abstract: Described are methods and systems for preparing stabilized bio-oil suitable for subsequent hydrotreatment and forming a hydrocarbon product from a stabilized bio-oil. For example, preparing stabilized bio-oil suitable for subsequent hydrotreatment may include filtering bio-oil effective to remove at least a portion of particles having an effective particulate diameter greater than about 10 micrometers; treating the bio-oil effective to remove at least a portion of inorganic species from the bio-oil; and catalytically stabilizing the bio-oil to provide the stabilized bio-oil suitable for subsequent hydrotreatment. Forming a hydrocarbon product from a stabilized bio-oil may include hydrotreating the stabilized bio-oil by, for example, contacting the stabilized bio-oil to a hydrotreatment catalyst in the presence of hydrogen, thereby providing the hydrocarbon product. Also included are stabilized bio-oil and hydrocarbon products derived therefrom.

  • Patent number: 8204338
Abstract: Systems and/or methods that factor large-scale repeated content within and/or among images can include devices and components that factor received or acquired images into epitomes that include all the content of the received or acquired images and transform maps that encode how to construct a facsimile or a close approximation of the image by selecting transformed regions from the epitomes. Through use of both the epitomes and the transform maps in conjunction, a facsimile or a close approximation of the input image can be reconstructed and displayed.

  • Patent number: 7921003
Abstract: A system and method for shallow water simulation may provide a framework for solving General Shallow Wave Equations (GSWE) to efficiently simulate 3D fluid effects on arbitrary surfaces using a height field representation. The height field representation may include height columns constructed along surface normals, which may be dependent on a condition of boundary cells adjacent to fluid cells and/or artificial viscosity effects. The framework may provide implicit schemes for solving for the effects of external forces applied to the fluid, including gravity and surface tension, and explicit schemes for solving for advection effects. The system and method may be implemented on general-purpose CPU(s) and/or GPU(s) and may be capable of simulating a variety of fluid effects including: waves, rivulets and streams, drops, and capillary events. In some embodiments, the system and method may achieve real-time fluid control and fluid shape design through user-interaction (e.g., in a graphical painting application).
