  • Publication number: 20100317209
Abstract: A supply hub safety shield device for a power socket comprises left and right slide blocks comprising sloped shields and platform shields. A slide platform is configured to house the left and right slide blocks such that the left and right slide blocks slide along a surface of the slide platform. The slide platform comprises first and second perforations configured to receive a hot blade and a neutral blade of an attaching plug. First and second elastic components push against the left and right slide blocks. Position blocks in a middle position of the slide platform, are configured to receive surfaces of the elastic components and are further configured to limit sliding distances of the left and right slide blocks. First and second perforations are under the sloped shields when the sloped shields are in initial positions and are configured to be over the hot and neutral line output conductive plug bushes of the power supply when the device is installed in a power socket.

  • Publication number: 20100301682
Abstract: A dimming switch comprises an enclosure with a mounting surface, a flat plate button mounted on the mounting surface, a dimming button, a tripping button, a dimmer mounted inside the enclosure, a resetting/tripping device, a dimming control circuit, a power input end configured to connect to a live wire of a power supply, and a power output end configured to connect to an electrical load. Pressing the flat plate button resets the resetting/tripping device, thereby electrically connecting the power input end with the power output end through the dimming control circuit. The dimming button is configured so that rotating the dimming button and pressing the dimming button up and down regulates the output voltage of the dimming control circuit. The tripping button and resetting/tripping device trip so that the electrical connection between the power input end and the power output end will be cut off.

  • Patent number: 7833030
Abstract: The present invention provides a safety shield that can be fitted in an electrical receptacle, such as an outlet or a ground fault circuit interrupter, to cover the plug blade slots on the electrical receptacle. The safety shield comprises a base box containing a left sliding block, a right sliding block, small sliding block, and elastic components. If the plug blades are not inserted into the plug blade slots, the safety shield covers the plug blade slots to prevent unwanted objects from getting in touch with the electrical contacts within the plug blade slots causing electrical shock or damage to humans. If the plug blades are inserted into the plug blade slots, the elastic components within the base box are compressed to move the left sliding block outward to the left and the right sliding block outwards to the right so as to open the plug blade slots.

  • Patent number: 7633726
Abstract: This invention provides protection against an electricity leak and prevents error in reverse wiring. Also, when the ground fault circuit interrupter has come to the end of its life and its functions fail, it can set off an alarm prompt signal, reminding the user to replace the interrupter in a prompt manner; when a certain part or accessory of the ground fault circuit interrupter fails, especially when the primary electromagnetic coil cannot work in a normal manner, the power output of the interrupter may be cut off through the secondary electromagnetic coil; or the test button may be pressed to mechanically cut off the power output of the interrupter. This invention has powerful applications, with good safe guard and is safe to use, thus effectively ensuring the personal safety of the user as well as the safety of the appliances.

  • Patent number: 7576959
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel circuit interrupting device capable of performing an automatic end-of-life test using a status test switch (KR-1), when the device is properly wired and the reset button is at a tripped state. The present invention is further characterized by its novel reset mechanism using a reset start switch (KR-4), a novel electrical connection between an input power end, an output power end, and a user accessible end to establish or discontinue electricity in the circuit interrupting device, and a novel test mechanism which uses a test button in connection with a rotatable lever to provide a dual test function to either test the components of the circuit interrupting device when the power is on and the reset button is at a reset state, or provide a mechanical trip when the reset button cannot be tripped by artificially generating an electric leakage current. Finally, the present invention provides a method to monitor the end-of-life of the device.

  • Publication number: 20090161271
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel circuit interrupting device, preferably a ground fault circuit interrupter, which contains a reset button that is capable of interacting with a test button to perform an end-of-life-component test on the circuit interrupting device. The circuit interrupting device also contains a reset switch coupled to the reset button which is capable of disallowing reset if the device is miswired and/or fails the end-of-life-component test. Only when the circuit interrupting device is properly wired, in a tripped state, and all of the key components in the circuit interrupting device are working properly, the depression of the reset button allows the device to be reset.

  • Patent number: 7538993
Abstract: The present invention provides a circuit interrupting device which can test the conditions of the components in the circuit interrupting device (i.e., the end-of-life test) through the depression of a test button. The circuit interrupting device also possesses reverse wiring protection, including the ability to cutoff power on the user accessible plugs of the face plate when the device is reverse wired or miswired. The circuit interrupting device contains a test button, a reset button, and a series of circuits (including, but not limited to, a main control circuit, an end-of-life detection circuit, and a reset/trip circuit). A depression of the test button generates a simulated fault, which is detected by the main control circuit. When the components in the main control circuit work properly, a control signal is generated by the main control circuit and transmitted to the end-of-life detection circuit to activate the reset/trip circuit and generated an indication signal.

  • Patent number: 7315227
Abstract: This invention discloses a ground fault circuit interrupter capable of detecting its end of life, and is characterized by: a pair of flexible metal sheets connected to the power output end are added on the circuit board of the interrupter, and there is a pair of moving contacts on the metal sheets; there are two pairs of fixed contacts on the power output conductors; the two pairs of fixed contacts on the power output conductors respectively correspond to the moving contacts on the power input metal sheets and the moving contacts on flexible metal sheets, thus forming two groups and four pairs of switches. There is also a tripping apparatus on the circuit board, which can release/trip the interrupter, thus cutting off the power output of the interrupter. An end of life detection circuit has also been added to the circuit board. After the interrupter is energized, various components in the interrupter are automatically detected.

  • Patent number: 7295415
Abstract: The present invention provides a set of circuits which is capable of performing an automatic check on main components of a circuit interrupting device when the circuit interrupting device is properly powered and the device is at a tripped state to determine whether these main components function normally. The results of the automatic check can be detected by depressing a reset button in the circuit interrupting device. If the reset button can be depressed, the main components function normally. Alternatively, the results can be automatically displayed by a showing on the face lid of the circuit interrupting device of either a green light, which means that the main components function normally, or a red or yellow light or no light, which means that at least one of the main components in the circuit interrupting device does not function properly.
