  • Publication number: 20240107776
Abstract: An antiferroelectric field effect transistor (Anti-FeFET) of a memory cell includes an antiferroelectric layer instead of a ferroelectric layer. The antiferroelectric layer may operate based on a programmed state and an erased state in which the antiferroelectric layer is in a fully polarized alignment and a non-polarized alignment (or a random state of polarization), respectively. This enables the antiferroelectric layer in the FeFET to provide a sharper/larger voltage drop for an erase operation of the FeFET (e.g., in which the FeFET switches or transitions from the programmed state to the erased state) relative to a ferroelectric material layer that operates based on switching between two opposing fully polarized states.

  • Publication number: 20120187879
Abstract: A zero-voltage-transition soft switching converter (14) for converting a DC voltage comprises a load output terminal (13); a main switching bridge comprising at least one main switch (S1; S2) and an auxiliary circuit (15) connected to the main switching bridge. The auxiliary circuit comprises an auxiliary switch (SX1); auxiliary diodes (DX1, DX10) connected to positive and negative DC voltages and to a diode connection point; and a coupled inductor (TX1) having two coupled windings (Lr1; Lr2), connected between the load output terminal and the auxiliary switch and the diode connection point, respectively. The auxiliary circuit is connected to the main switching bridge to block currents in one direction between the main switching bridge and the auxiliary circuit, a residual magnetizing current otherwise freewheeling through a turned-on main switch and an auxiliary diode is reset in each switching cycle and thus no longer accumulated.

  • Patent number: 7116066
Abstract: A power control system (12) for an electric motor having at least one magnetic bearing includes a DC/DC converter (18) supplied from a DC link bus (179) connected to a main power supply (14), the bus (17) supplying power for the electric motor and for a bearing actuator the converter (18) provides low voltage DC power supplies for a motor controller (23), a bearing controller (24) and a supervisory controller (26), the later monitoring the main power supply and communicating with the motor controller (23) and bearing controller (24) so as to cause the motor to operate as a generator in the event of a failure of the main power supply (14) to thereby supply power to the DC link bus (17) to maintain operation of the magnetic bearing. Circuit switching components are connected to the motor winding and selectively switched in a manner causing current generated in the motor winding to flow in one direction into the DC link bus (17) only while the winding voltage is greater than that of the DC link bus (17).

  • Patent number: 6438321
Abstract: A motor controller utilizes sensors to detect the rotational speed and relative position of the motor rotor and generates a voltage vector to maintain the motor current in phase with the EMF before a voltage limit is reached. The approximate actual speed is calculated and position signals are generated by the calculator. The actual speed is compared with a command speed signal and any difference gives rise to an error signal. A proportional integrator receives the error signal and produces a correction signal for a vector rotator corresponding to the desired vertical voltage component necessary to achieve the command speed. After the voltage limit is reached, any further speed increase desired is achieved by rotation of the voltage vector with it's amplitude unchanged.
