  • Patent number: 7825811
Abstract: A locking device comprising a lock body having a through hole, a bolt member having a longitudinal bore therethrough and an insertion end which is inserted into the through hole of the lock body. The bolt member is further having a retaining pin disposed within the longitudinal bore and a resilient means for biasing the retaining pin axially out of the longitudinal bore. When the bolt member is inserted into the lock body, a means within the lock body prevents the removal of the inserted bolt member therefrom, and engages an actuating means to actuate an identifying means. The identifying means transmits a signal to indicate whether the locking device has been tampered with or defeated. If the bolt member is cut, the retaining pin is displaced out of the longitudinal bore and dislodges the actuating means resulting in the identifying means indicating that the locking device has been tampered with or defeated.

  • Patent number: 6680705
Abstract: An apparatus for a capacitive feed planar inverted-F (PIFA) multi-band antenna is provided. The antenna structure of the present invention typically comprises of a ground element, a main radiating element, having predefined slits and arranged above the ground element, and a capacitive feed element. The capacitive feed element is electrically connected to an antenna feed and is detached from the main radiating and ground elements. By having additional secondary elements, the bandwidth or the number of resonant frequencies of the antenna can be increased without increasing the overall dimensions of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 6608605
Abstract: A helical antenna tuned to a first and a second resonant frequency is disclosed. The helical antenna includes an elongated conductor formed as a uniform spiral. The uniform spiral has a plurality of turns about a longitudinal axis. The plurality of turns has a predetermined pitch and the elongated conductor has a length which is approximately one-quarter of a wavelength of the first resonant frequency. The helical antenna further includes a first dielectric element and a second element. Both elements are coupled to the spiral to selectively tune the antenna to the second resonant frequency. A wireless communication device including the helical antenna is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6448934
Abstract: An antenna is provided that is adapted to operate in multiple frequency bands. The antenna consists of a first antenna element for receiving and transmitting signals in a first frequency band, and a second antenna element for receiving and transmitting signals in a second frequency band. The first antenna element has a substantially elongated conductor of a predetermined first pitch, which is coupled to a feed point. The second antenna element has a substantially meandering coil of a predetermined second pitch, which is coupled to said feed point. The substantially meandering coil comprises a plurality of first portions having a wound form and surrounding at least partly said first antenna element, and also comprises a plurality of second portions having a straight form. The first portion extends from an upper end of said second portion to a lower end of a subsequent second portion following in axial direction of the second antenna element.

  • Patent number: 6281851
Abstract: A communications device with a quarter wave antenna (11) is provided with a quarter wavelength choke that is formed by a conductive coating (14) applied to the inner wall of the housing (12) to the communications device. The conductive coating (14) is electrically coupled as a ground to antenna (11) via the ground to a printed circuit board (13) and a conductive surface to a dividing wall (18) acting as a suspended base by which to support the circuit board (13). The conductive coating (14) is extended from the antenna base over a length equal to a quarter wavelength.
