  • Publication number: 20110102362
Abstract: A writing and displaying device is proposed, including: a display member having a first electric connecting portion and an electrochromic layer; an input member including a second electric connecting portion and an electrolyte layer; and a power supply member for supplying electric power to the input member and the display member. When the electric power is supplied by the power supply member and the input member is in contact with the display member, the input member, the display member and the power supply member constitute a loop circuit such that an electrochromism occurs to the portion of the display member in contact with the input member. The electrochromism can be maintained for a predetermined duration of time even after the contact of the display member with the input member is removed and the driving power is turned off.

  • Patent number: 7826025
Abstract: An attachment process for flexible substrates and a patterned sealant used therein are provided. The attachment process is mainly used to manufacture flexible liquid-crystal displays (LCDs). Firstly, a patterned sealant with an opening is applied to a first substrate, and then a liquid crystal material is filled in the patterned sealant. During a pressing process for combining the first substrate and a second substrate, bubbles can be automatically evacuated from the opening of the patterned sealant, and the patterned sealant will deform and expand to seal the opening after the pressing process. By applying the patterned sealant with an opening in the manufacturing process of flexible LCDs, bubbles are easily evacuated and the opening of the patterned sealant is directly and automatically sealed in the pressing process under the atmospheric pressure.

  • Publication number: 20080169063
Abstract: A method for aligning and bonding a flexible display panel including following steps is provided. First, a lower flexible substrate and an upper flexible substrate are provided. The lower flexible substrate has a device array area. Next, the upper flexible substrate covers and is aligned to the device array area. Then, an edge of the upper flexible substrate is secured onto the lower flexible substrate. Afterward, the upper flexible substrate is lifted to expose the device array area, and a display medium is then provided thereon. Next, the upper flexible substrate is laid back over the device array area. Then a roller is used to bond the upper flexible substrate to the lower flexible substrate, such that the display medium is sealed therebetween. The method for aligning and bonding the flexible display panel is capable of being performed in a non-vacuum environment.
