  • Publication number: 20040130228
Abstract: A magnetic induction coupler mainly comprises an outer wheel having a conducting strip rotor attached on its inner wall and a magnet stand located within the outer wheel, both arranged coaxially on a shaft. A number of permanent magnets are arranged around the outer wall of the magnet stand to form a multipolar magnetic field. A number of conducting strips are circularly distributed on the conducting strip rotor and electrically connected. The rotational motion of the outer wheel is mechanically decoupled from the magnet stand by two sets of bearings. To achieve relative motion between the outer wheel and the magnet stand, a motor is used to drive the outer wheel. As the outer wheel rotates, an induction torque produced by an electric current induced in the conducting strip rotor drives the shaft to move accordingly. Further, the magnitude of the induction torque is proportional to the motor speed.

  • Patent number: 6726602
Abstract: A lifting and folding device for a running exercise machine comprises an ascending/folding device and an interacting device installed between a base and an exercise platform. By adjusting the ascending/folding device the interacting device is put in a synchronic motion, so as to achieve the effect of adjusting the exercise platform to an uphill, a horizontal or a downhill configuration. Further, the ascending/folding device has a driving device capable of automatically ascending and folding the running exercise machine.

  • Publication number: 20040043871
Abstract: A treading exercising machine generates adjustable elliptical tracks to tilt at two sides thereof. The treading exercise machine has a base each side of which having a respective support frame. The support frames are pivotally installed with symmetrical sliding grooves. Two sides of another end of the base have respective coaxial cranks. Each crank is pivotally connected to one end of a pedal. Another ends of the two pedals are connected to sliding wheels. The sliding wheels are received in the sliding grooves so as to move therein. The two sliding grooves with a predetermined length have respective axial rods at the outer middle sides thereof. Thereby, the sliding grooves are adjustable along the support frames to adjust tilting angles at the two sides; and thus, elliptical tracks of the pedals are changed to present operations of moving upwards, downwards and flatly.

  • Publication number: 20040005960
Abstract: A treading exercise machine with an elliptical trace comprises a base, a first pivotal shaft, a second pivotal shaft, a supporting rod, and a pair of treading rods. When the insertion shaft of the button is adjusted to position in one of the positioning hole, the arm is positioned. The treading rods move reciprocally with the treading actions of the user. If the insertion shaft of the button is inserted into another positioning hole, the moving range of the treading rods will change so as to adjust the difficulty in exercise. When the shaft of the button is adjusted to move out of the positioning hole, the arm freely moves forwards and backwards. As the pulley slides to a buckle groove at a distal end of the guide groove, by the cranks to move along a round trace, the treading rods is drive to move along an elliptical trace.

  • Publication number: 20030139254
Abstract: An interactive device for interactively operating music and speech with moving frequencies of exercisers comprises a sensor for sensing the moving frequency of the exerciser, and converting the frequency as signals for outputting; and the sensor is installed to a moving range of the exerciser which has a sector area; and a speech rhythm system for receiving the frequency signal from the sensor; the speech rhythm system; and for displaying music and speech according to the received signals in the speech rhythm system. The device is used with an exercise machine. The speech rhythm system includes a data microprocessor, an audio frequency output device, a built in music IC device, a speech device, a display and a plurality of adjust switches. The data microprocessor sets the moving frequency of the exerciser is based on the rhythm of the music IC.

  • Publication number: 20030022140
Abstract: An interactive game apparatus comprises a heartbeat detection device worn by user or operatively coupled to a part of user. A heartbeat count measured by heartbeat detection device is converted into heartbeat pulse which is further decoded prior to transmitting to game machine. A converter and receiver in game machine converts the received heartbeat pulse into a heartbeat value as parameters for effecting an interactive game between user and game machine.

  • Patent number: 6318517
Abstract: A mechanism is designed to effect a resistance and is formed of a support frame on which a braking wheel, an excited magnetic disk and an excited magnetic coil are mounted by a fastening shaft. The excited magnetic disk has an induction surface and a shaft seat over which the excited magnetic coil is fitted. The induction surface of the excited magnetic disk is provided along the fringe thereof with a plurality of magnetic poles serving as eddy current induction areas at the time when the excited magnetic disk and the braking wheel interact. The eddy current and the magnetic flux interact to effect a reverse rotation moment opposite in direction to the rotation of the braking wheel.

  • Patent number: 6310416
Abstract: A resisting and pulling mechanism comprises an excited magnetic disk and a braking wheel mounted coaxially with the excited magnetic disk which is provide with an excited magnetic coil. The braking wheel and the excited magnetic disk are separated from each other by an air gap. As the excited magnetic coil is provided with electric current, a magnetic field is effected around the excited magnetic coil. In the meantime, a magnetic flux is brought about on the excited magnetic disk. As the braking wheel is in motion, the eddy current is induced between the braking wheel and the magnetic poles of the excited magnetic disk such that the eddy current interacts with the magnetic flux to effect a rotation moment. When the excited magnetic disk is exerted on by an external force opposite in direction to the rotation moment, a resistance is effected such that the resistance can be transmitted to an external device which is connected with the excited magnetic disk via a pulley or belted wheel.

  • Patent number: 6283901
Abstract: A device for effecting resistance is incorporated into an exercise or rehabilitation machine and is formed of an excited magnetic cylinder, an excited magnetic coil, a rotary cylinder, and two support frames. As the excited magnetic coil is connected to the alternating current power source in conjunction with a control switch, the exercise or rehabilitation machine is provided with a magnetic resistance of a predetermined magnitude. The excited magnetic cylinder is provided in one side with an annular wavy magnetic interstice for guiding the magnetic line toward the rotary cylinder, thereby resulting in a magnetic resistance causing the fixed excited magnetic cylinder and the rotary cylinder to attract each other. The rotary cylinder is connected to a link device of the exercise or rehabilitation machine, so as to provide the exercise or rehabilitation machine with a resistance.
