    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the field of mobile communications, and in particular, to a data compression method and device. In order to solve the problem of low compression efficiency in the prior art, the method comprises: sampling an obtained baseband signal and obtaining a number of discrete baseband signals to achieve an initial compression; calculating amplitude and phase values of each discrete baseband signal, on the basis of bit widths preset for the adjusted amplitude value and the phase value, carrying out a bit-truncating on the adjusted amplitude value and the phase value respectively, and combining the truncated phase value data and amplitude value data to obtain the final compressed discrete baseband signal. In this way, by truncating bits according to the preset bit width without distortion, the data bits of the baseband signal can be reduced accordingly, thereby reducing the amount of transmitted data, effectively improving the compression efficiency, and thus saving fiber resources.
