  • Patent number: 6450078
Abstract: Braider carriers for multiple yarn packages include separate supports for separate packages and separate guides for the yarns from each package. Insulating tubular gaskets having low porosity and comprised of an insulating yarn and wire are manufactured using the carriers. A circular braider used in the manufacture of the gaskets is loaded with a group of carriers each carrying a single yarn package of insulating yarn. The multiple package carriers, each of which is selectively positioned between carriers of the first group, supply insulating yarn and wire.

  • Patent number: 5609547
Abstract: An engine overrun preventing system for a vehicle, in which the overrun of an engine is prevented when the overrun of the engine is detected, by (i) switching a lock-up system provided in a torque convertor OFF to cause a slip, if it is detected that the lock-up system is in its ON state; (ii) shifting a transmission into a speed range which is one grade lower than a presently selected speed range and reducing vehicle speed by engine brake, if it is detected that the lock-up system is in its OFF state and that the transmission is placed in another speed range than a first speed; and (iii) actuating a brake to reduce vehicle speed, if it is detected that the lock-up system is in its OFF state and that the transmission is placed in the first speed and if a detected vehicle speed is equal to a predetermined vehicle speed or more.

  • Patent number: 5085252
Abstract: Method of weaving a variable cross-sectional shaped three-dimensional fabric which utilizes different weft yarn insertion from at least one side of the warp layers for selectively inserting weft yarns into different portions of the fabric cross-sectional profile defined by the warp yarn layers during the weaving process. If inserted from both sides of the warp yarn layers, the weft yarns may be inserted simultaneously or alternately from each side of the warp yarn layers. The vertical yarn is then inserted into the fabric by reciprocation of a plurality of harnesses which separate the vertical yarn into a plurality of vertical yarn systems as required by the shape of the three-dimensional fabric being formed.
