  • Publication number: 20190197853
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing a tag. The methods comprise: placing the tag in a first operational mode in which an internal component (“IC”) necessary to facilitate communication between the tag and a tag reader (“TR”) are intentionally disabled; storing in the tag's data store a schedule specifying a scheduled time during which the tag is permitted to communicate with TR; selectively enabling IC at the scheduled time to permit the tag to communicate with TR; performing monitoring operations at the tag to determine when a predetermined condition has been detected; and causing the tag to autonomously perform an alerting function when the predetermined condition has been detected. The alerting function comprises (a) enabling a receiver of the tag to communicate with TR at an unscheduled time, and/or (b) activating an alert by enabling a hardware alerting component provided on the tag.

  • Publication number: 20190188631
Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-sensor tag sale optimization. The methods comprise: analyzing sensor data generated by sensors internal to a tag, coupled to an item of an item set that is being handled by a first individual, to determine if the item was carried to a checkout lane of a retail store; and determining whether a sale conversion for the item occurred. If a sale conversion for the item occurred, performing the following operations: analyzing historical sale transaction information to determine a total number of sales of items in the item set over a first given period of time; comparing the total number of sales to a first threshold value; and causing content displayed on the tag's electronic visual display to be dynamically changed so as to include a sale price for the item, when the total number of sales is less than or equal to the first threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20190172088
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically changing displayed content of a tag coupled to an item. The methods comprising: detecting when an individual is in proximity to the tag; triggering operations, by a computing device remote from the tag, to obtain customer related information associated with the individual, when a detection is made that the individual is in proximity to the tag; determining, by the computing device, a price discount for the item based on the customer related information which was previously obtained; and dynamically changing the displayed content of the tag to include the price discount while the individual is still in proximity to the tag.

  • Publication number: 20180308475
Abstract: A system and method for detecting speech from occupants in a building management system is disclosed. Building management systems include fire alarm systems, building automation systems and security systems, in examples. Installed devices deployed within the building include audio transducers that detect speech from the occupants, and a management system panel processes the information from the installed devices and processes the detected speech from the occupants. In a fire alarm system, in one example, the fire alarm panel processes the detected speech from fire sensor devices and alarm notification devices as the installed devices. The fire alarm panel and/or its installed devices can identify commands from the detected speech for controlling and testing the fire alarm management system. In embodiments, Artificial Intelligence (AI) subsystems can be further added to the building management systems for control and information services.
