  • Patent number: 9383537
Abstract: Cassettes for optical cables with a plurality of adapters for connecting external devices to the cassette. The cassettes may be hingedly connected to a drop handle that is configured to inhibit access to the plurality of adapters when in a stored position, and allows access when in an open position. The drop handle includes a channel configured to guide cables to at least one side of the cassette while maintaining their connection to the plurality of adapters. The cassettes may also include an opening configured to allow the cables to exit the drop handle on at least one side of the cassette. A flexible radius controller may be connected to the opening and is configured to flex when the cassette is removed from a housing.

  • Patent number: 9110266
Abstract: Fiber optic cables seal and/or strain relief members and related assemblies and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, an elongated member is provided that facilitates providing sealing and/or strain relief of a portion of multiple fiber optic cables not enclosed within a common outer cable jacket or sheath when disposed through the opening of the fiber optic terminal. In one embodiment, the elongated member includes a sealing portion configured to facilitate sealing of a fiber optic terminal opening when the multiple fiber optic cables are received in the sealing portion and the elongated member is disposed through the opening of the fiber optic terminal. In another embodiment, the elongated member includes a strain relief portion on a second end configured to receive and provide strain relief to the multiple fiber optic cables disposed inside the fiber optic terminal, when the elongated member is disposed through the fiber optic terminal opening.

  • Publication number: 20150071597
Abstract: A drop handle includes a base having first and second ends and a cover latch. A cover is connected to the base and comprises a securing latch positioned on an inner surface and configured to engage with the cover latch of the base to secure the cover to the base. A flexible retainer is removably attached to the base. The drop handle further includes a first connecting member comprising a first hinge that is configured to rotatably connect the drop handle to a cassette and operable to lock the drop handle in a first position and a second position, a second connecting member comprising a second hinge that is configured to rotatably connect the drop handle to the cassette, and a release aperture disposed on at least one of the connecting members and configured to receive a corresponding release protrusion on the cassette.

  • Patent number: 8873926
Abstract: Fiber optic enclosures employing clamping assemblies for strain relief cables and related assemblies and methods are disclosed. The fiber optic enclosures may be part of a fiber optic terminal in a fiber optic network. The fiber optic enclosures may include openings in the walls of the fiber optic enclosure. A cable fitting assembly may be attached to a portion of the wall around an opening to form a passageway for fiber optic cables to enter the fiber optic enclosure. An elongated member may be used to guide the fiber optic cables through the passageway. The elongated member may have a first end and second end. The elongated member may include a clamping assembly at the first end to provide strain relief to the fiber optic cables by clamping strength members of the fiber optic cables.

  • Patent number: 8855456
Abstract: Mounting devices for optical devices, and related sub-assemblies, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed. The mounting devices may be employed to secure optical devices that are configured to convert optical signals to electrical signals, or electrical signals to optical signals. The mounting devices may be configured to secure optical devices to an electronics board, such as a printed circuit board (PCB) as an example. To preserve signal integrity, the mounting devices may also be configured to align the optical devices with electrical lead connections on the electronics board. The mounting devices may also be configured to improve grounding of the optical devices to provide and improve radio frequency (RF) shielding to avoid degradation of signal-to-noise (S/N) ratios from RF interference from electronic devices on the electronics board and other nearby electronic devices.
