  • Patent number: 11884064
Abstract: A printing device may include two printers for printing to the front side and the back side of a recording medium. The physical page length of at least one print image applied onto the front side of the recording medium is determined. The required page length of at least one print image to be applied onto the back side of the recording medium is adapted to the determined page length. At least one print line of the print image for the back side is printed repeatedly if the required page length for application of the rear print page onto the back side of the recording medium is smaller than the determined page length.

  • Patent number: 11801675
Abstract: A controller may detect an elevation of a recording medium that is to be printed to, the elevation may result in the printing element of a printing device being negatively affected. The controller may automatically produce a time-limited printing pause of the printing element in which the printing gap between the printing element and the recording medium is temporarily enlarged in order to direct the detected elevation past the printing element. A negative effect on the printing device given the presence of a damaged recording medium may thus be efficiently and reliably avoided or reduced.

  • Publication number: 20220227130
Abstract: A computing device for a printing device may include a first transducer for generating a first clock frequency and a second transducer for generating a second clock frequency. The computing device may determine the timing signal for clocking the printing operation of the printing device on the basis of the first clock frequency and/or on the basis of the second clock frequency, in particular to increase the uniformity of the timing signal and/or in order to enable a dynamic adaptation of the timing signal to a changing property of the printing device and/or of the recording medium to be printed to.

  • Patent number: 7924446
Abstract: A method is provided for error handling in a printer or copier. A plurality of monitoring units detect error states of the printer or copier. A detected error states are transmitted to a controller. A plurality of successively transmitted error states are stored in a storage. The stored error states are evaluated by the controller. The stored error states are compared with predetermined error patterns and at least one error type is determined. Further steps are executed by the controller dependent on the error type.

  • Patent number: 7835684
Abstract: In a method for control of an electrophotographic printer or copier, information that refer to a single sheet are determined from print data supplied to the printer or copier. Dependent on said information, a transport path of the single sheet through the printer or copier to generate at least one print image on at least one side of the sheet is determined. A system time of the printer or copier is provided that is the same for at least first and second control units of the printer or copier. At least one desired point in time at or until which at least one sensor signal is expected or at least one actuator is activated is established dependent on the transport path, the desired point in time referring to the system time of the printer or copier.

  • Patent number: 7804621
Abstract: The method or system for controlling a printing or copying system for processing single sheets, a first single sheet and at least a second single sheet immediately following the first single sheet is processed with aid of n processing units. A required minimum distance between the first and the second single sheet is determined for each processing unit. A delay distance is determined for the first and at least for each of the n?1 following processing units. A difference between the minimum distance of a processing unit and a sum of the delay distances of the preceding processing units is formed. A smallest possible distance with which the second single sheet is fed to the first processing unit after the first single sheet is determined by a highest value of the determined minimum distance of the first processing unit and the determined differences.

  • Publication number: 20050206954
Abstract: In a method for printing a file on sheets with register pages inserted between them, the file containing register page file parameters describing the register pages, register page print parameters that describe a stack of register pages at an input. In the event that, upon printing of the file, it is established using the register page file parameters that a register page is to be processed, the register page file parameters describing the register page to be printed are compared with the register page print parameters in order to establish whether the next register page to be drawn from the input stack coincides with the register page to be processed. In the event that this is not the case, drawing at least one or more register pages from the input stack and supplying one or more of them to an output until a register page coinciding with the register page to be printed is drawn from the input stack, and then processing and supplying that register page to the output.
