Abstract: A submersible cable for a fish-repelling installation comprises a central conductive-wire core covered with a conductive smoothing layer and then with an insulating layer. A first conductive layer is applied over this first insulating layer, then a second insulating layer and a second conductive layer that constitutes a field limiter. Armor in the form of synthetic-resin strands is then wound over the cable and a waterproof layer is applied to the outside of the cable. After the application of each insulating layer the cable is tested for leakage in order to repair any discovered leaks before the next conductive layer is applied to the cable.
