  • Patent number: 6283399
Abstract: A yarn braking device, in particular a double plate brake for textile yarns running from bobbin creels, with two pairs of brake plates through which the yarn passes and whose top and bottom plates are to be pressed together adjustably in order to tension the yarn passing through, with a two-armed plate lever disposed beneath the pair of brake plates and able from that location to influence pressure loads each of the pairs of plates by means of a respective one of the lever arms, and with a pressure adjusting device acting on the plate lever.

  • Patent number: 6249939
Abstract: Method for warping with a cone sectional warping machine, which winds threads in bands on a warping drum, wherein a support for a thread guide comb and the warping drum are displaced in relation to each other in correspondence with the increasing thickness of winding and predetermined warping data. The first band is monitored during a first measuring phase by a roll exerting contact pressure and the monitored displacement path is recorded as a function of the number of rotations of the warping drum. Roll pressure on the winding during the measuring phase is continuously monitored using measuring techniques. Displacement of the support is corrected if monitoring results differ from a predetermined setpoint. In order to even out the formation of the wind, the roll is arranged at a given distance from the warping drum when warping of the first band is started. The monitoring of the roll is automatically started with increasing thickness of the winding as soon as the winding causes the roll to rotate.

  • Patent number: 6195856
Abstract: Method for warping with a cone sectional warper that winds up the threads (10) in bands on a sectional warping drum (11), in which a support (12) for a thread guide comb is displaced parallel to the warping drum (11) by a forward feed drive, corresponding to the increasing thickness of the wind and predetermined warping data, with the first band being sensed during a measurement phase by a roll (15) under contact pressure and with the sensed displacement travel being recorded as a function of the number of rotations of the warping drum (11), and with the roll being drawn back and pressing on the wind lap after the measurement phase upon further winding in accordance with a mean value obtained during the measurement phase.

  • Patent number: 6109557
Abstract: Winding device for threads from V-creels, from the bobbins of which the threads are drawn off via pre-looping bars and through a comb, and wound on a winding shaft of the winding device, where the pre-looping bars near the winding device have more threads looped around them and those farther away have fewer, and their degree of looping is centrally adjustable. At least one measuring device is placed beyond the comb in the direction of travel of the threads to determine tension in the threads and central adjustment of the pre-looping bars is controlled in relation to the result of measurement. To permit automatic resetting of the pre-looping bars independently of the material and the running speed of the threads in winding devices of different kinds, the winding device is constructed such that the pre-looping bars are divided at least on one side of a creel into successive functional groups to at least one of which is allocated a measuring device to determine the tension in threads of this group.

  • Patent number: 5806773
Abstract: A creel has a frame provided with a plurality of parallel and longitudinally extending rows of holders each adapted to carry a respective filament-carrying bobbin with the holders of each row longitudinally staggered relative to the holders of adjacent rows and defining nonstraight gaps with the holders of the adjacent rows. Respective eyes are aligned transversely of the rows with the holders and filaments pass in a transverse direction from the bobbins to and through the respective eyes. A respective longitudinally extending and nonstraight guide spaced transversely in the direction from the bobbins between the bobbins and the eyes extends parallel to the rows and are each formed level with each holder of the respective rows with an arcuate section directed toward the holders of the respective rows and alignable in a first position in the transverse direction with the gaps between the bobbins.

  • Patent number: 5638924
Abstract: A disk brake for placing tension on textile yarns is provided with an air-cleaning system for blowing lint and fiber dust particularly from the underside of the disks to prevent a buildup which may interfere with operation of the brake disks and prevent proper clamping action between the disks.

  • Patent number: 5625934
Abstract: In a reeling machine a multiplicity of yarns are pulled from respective supplies and wound up on a beam and each yarn is associated with a sensor which produces an output whose state indicates if the respective yarn is broken or not present. Each sensor is periodically scanned to read the state of its output and the reeling machine is stopped when one of the scanned outputs corresponds to a broken or not present condition of the respective yarn. An output is simultaneously generated indicating exactly which yarn is broken or not present. The sensor are connected to a matrix and the matrix is scanned to read the sensor outputs.

  • Patent number: 5318155
Abstract: A disk brake for textile yarns is mounted upon a horizontal brake support for a warp creel with the disk axis disposed perpendicularly to the brake support. The upper disk can be adjustably loaded for adjusting the braking force. The entire adjustable range of the brake can be controlled with a single spring, which is below the horizontal brake support. The brake spring is disposed parallel to the brake support and is attached at one end preferably to an adjuster that can be shifted relative to the brake support and at the other end to a pivoting lever arm which presses vertically downwardly on the upper disk under the influence of the brake spring.

  • Patent number: 4438786
Abstract: A knife construction for a double-lift open-shed Jacquard loom includes two knife boxes which are movable in opposite directions past each other. The knives of each knife box consist of a carrier member having hook plates fastened thereto and provided with spaced control hooks. Lifter members formed as flat bars controlled by main needles arranged transverse to the knives each include two main noses engageable with the control hooks of the movable knives and a holding-up nose engageable with a stationary upper-shed knife. The formation of the control hooks and the main noses in the control direction of the main needles permits movement of the lifters intermediate the control hooks of a knife.

  • Patent number: 4296782
Abstract: A double-lift open-shed Jacquard machine with two lifting bars which are movable in opposite directions to each other and pass each other, and with flat-bar lifters which can be controlled by main needles whose maximum moment of resistance lies parallel to the direction of movement of the main needles and which have two main projections associated with the movable knives, a holder-up projection associated with a fixed upper-shed knife, and at the lower end an engagement point for a harness cord. The two main projections, the holder-up projection, and the engagement point, for the harness cord lie on a straight line as seen crosswise to the direction of movement of the main needles, and the holder-up projection stands off from the flat bar lifter transversely to the direction of movement of the main needles.

  • Patent number: 4291730
Abstract: A double-lift open-shed jacquard machine with two lifting bars which are movable in opposite directions to each other and which pass each other, and with lifters controllable by main needles, the latter being arranged transverse to the knives of the lifting bars, which lifters have two main projections associated with the movable knives and one holding-up projection associated with a fixed upper-shed knife. The movable knives are made of a carrier part and hook plates fastened thereto with control hooks, the latter being bent off in the direction towards the main projections of the lifters and being arranged spaced apart from each other. The shaping of the hook plates and their control hooks permits in the control direction of the main needles a passage of the lifters up into a plane lying between the control hooks of a knife, and the shank of the lifters has a flat rectangular cross-section, whose greater bending moment lies in the control direction of the main needles.
