  • Patent number: 8578817
Abstract: The invention relates to a modular transmission system, comprising in at least one transmission stage with a housing a plurality of transmissions with different multiplications, each having a first transmission step comprising an annular gear with a pinion offset, said pinion off-set being identical for all transmissions of one transmission stage. The modular transmission system is provided with at least one first pinion of the angular gear with a first serrated crown gear in a crown gear serration and a second pinion with a second crown gear in a spiroplan gearing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 3, 2001
Date of Patent: November 12, 2013

  • Patent number: 7707721
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing multiple transmission units with individually selectable gear ratios that vary from unit to unit, a gear pair having a desired transmission ratio is selected from a multiplicity of interchangeable gear pairs that includes both spiroplan gears and conventional crown gear and pinion combinations. The selected gear pair is then installed into a housing having first and second bearing sections configured to support bearings in which the shafts of the selected gear pair are rotatably mounted. The bearing sections are configured such that, for every gear pair that may be selected from among the multiplicity of gear pairs, the bearing sections support the first and second shafts in such a position and orientation that teeth of the gears engage with each other and a longitudinal axis of one of the gears of the gear pair is offset by a fixed distance from a longitudinal axis of the other.

  • Publication number: 20040096271
Abstract: A tensioning coupler for a quill and shaft employs a yoke around the circumference of a quill, a first circumferential pressure ring and a second tensioning ring each of which has a projected conical portion which overlap each other when installed. Both rings have slots to allow them to be opened or closed slightly as the tensioning ring is drawn into the pressure ring.
