Abstract: The invention relates to a NEW ADVERTISING MEDIUM and method involving the printing of advertising material in the form of text and/or half-tone graphical images, on regular consumable print paper. A sheet of paper is provided having a front surface, and a reverse surface, the front surface being blank, and the reverse surface having the advertising material printed thereon. The ink used to print the advertising material is lightly colored or reduced in density, and the paper is of a grade sufficient to limit the visibility of the advertising material through the paper from the front surface thereof. The paper may also be of a distinctive non-white color or include a distinctively colored marking. The invention includes a new method of advertising in the form of printing advertising material on the consumable print paper of the invention.

Abstract: One form of conventional shipping unit includes a plurality of forms interconnected at their ends by tabs for bearing information concerning, inter alia, the shipper and consignee. Most of the forms are carried by a sleeve or envelope, which has an adhesive backing for connecting the envelope to a package to be shipped. When a plurality of packages are to be shipped in a single shipment, it is necessary to prepare a plurality of forms, to provide a separate sheet of labels bearing the same information, e.g. bar codes or numerals, or to label each of the packages with a pen, marker or stamp. It has been found that part of the removable cover for the rear or bottom adhesive bearing surface of the envelope can be used for labelling purposes, i.e. can provide labels bearing the same identifying indicia for a plurality of packages being shipped with a single set of forms.

Abstract: A machine for producing weatherproofed multi leaf shipping labels including means for holding a pre-printed form web, means for relieving successive portions of the web longitudinally thereof, means for applying top and bottom sheets to the web, means for encapsulating the web between the successive relieved portions of the web by pressure bonding the top and bottom sheets in face contact with each other at successive relieved portions of the web, and receiving means including means for delivering the encapsulated web to the receiving means and also the method for producing weatherproofed shipping labels.
