  • Publication number: 20220257550
Abstract: The present invention relates to a combination of elafibranor with either riboflavin or DHA as antiviral agent. The bacteriophage T4 titer on E. coli that is increased by elafibranor in comparison to an untreated control is reversed by the combination of elafibranor with riboflavin or elafibranor with DHA. Therefore, these combinations decrease adverse side effects of elafibranor on the gut microbiota.

  • Publication number: 20220160804
Abstract: The present invention relates to systemic detoxification and chronic inflammation by using extract fractions of Laurus nobilis, that lead to a decrease of anti-inflammatory markers in human lung cell lines and the activation of the Nrf2 pathway, which is a crucial element in intracellular detoxification pathways, decreases the expression of inflammatory cytokines. Therefore, the extract can be used to reduce the adverse effects of air pollution generally (and especially of particulate air pollution), which includes: cardiovascular problems, respiratory diseases, and chronic inflammation of tissues that come into contact with air borne particles.

  • Publication number: 20200129531
Abstract: The present invention relates to systemic detoxification by using extracts of Withania somnifera (ashwagandha) and its Nrf2-activating components withaferin-A, 12-deoxywithastramonolide, and Quresimine A. When ingested, the transcription factor Nrf2, which is a crucial element in intracellular detoxification pathways, leads to elimination of potentially toxic compounds. In parallel, the expression of inflammatory cytokines is decreased. Therefore, the extract can be used to reduce the adverse effects of air pollution generally (and especially of particulate air pollution), which includes: cardiovascular problems, respiratory diseases, and chronic inflammation of tissues that come into contact with air borne particles.
