  • Publication number: 20040159392
Abstract: Arrangement and method of building vehicle pneumatic tires. The arrangement has a first production line including a carcass building drum device, a shaping drum device, and a moveable core-centering and carcass-carrying device arranged between the carcass building drum device and the shaping drum device. The moveable core-centering and carcass-carrying device is adapted to receive a carcass from the carcass building drum device and to transfer the carcass the shaping drum device. A second production line includes a movable belt building drum device adapted to build a belt package with at least one belt layer. The movable belt building drum device is adapted to move across the first production line and between the carcass building drum device and the shaping drum device. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 6695949
Abstract: The invention relates to a feeding device for strip-shaped tire components. The inventive device is situated in a conveying device for a tire construction drum. The feeding device comprises one or several storage means, feeding and cutting devices pertaining thereto as well as transport devices by means of which the cut tire components are transported to the tire construction drum. The transport devices which withdraw the tire component from the storage means and position said tire component under the cutting device and the transport devices which transport the cut tire component to the tire construction drum are configured as an interconnected one-piece transport system in a transport line. The transport system can be displaced between a rear cutting and feeding position and a support position that is moved to the front. The conveying devices are arranged in such a way that the one-piece transport system engages with the cutting devices in the rear position thereof.

  • Patent number: 6030479
Abstract: Device and process for constructing a carcass and for preshaping an unvulcanized rubber tire includes a preshaping device. An axially adjustable hollow, cylindrical body associated with the preshaping device has a radially outermost surface. An adjustment device capable of adjusting an axial position of the cylindrical body between an operating position and a rest position is provided. A second body having a radially outermost surface is adapted to form a substantially cylindrical, sealed construction surface with the radially outermost surface of the cylindrical body in the operating position. The preshaping device, in the operating position, is positioned axially inside the cylindrical body in a same axial position as the cylindrical body to enable positioning the carcass without the carcass being affected by the preshaping device.

  • Patent number: 4711691
Abstract: The build-up drum of build-up machines is frequently interchangeably mounted on its drive shaft in order to be able to adapt to changes in dimension in the production program with one and the same machine. If the operating and control elements associated with the drum bear directly against the end walls of the drum, each change of the drum requires considerable expense for adjustments and alignments. This is avoided by providing the build-up drum on both sides with a respective spacer and abutment sleeve against which the movable operating and control elements can bear in a constantly uniform orientation relative to the middle of the drum as the critical reference plane.
