    Abstract: The invention relates to a gravity-fed basin for discharging industrial water into a receiving body of water. The gravity-fed basin comprises a gravity cylinder having an inlet opening and an outlet opening, and comprises an overflow sill formed by the edge of the inlet opening of the gravity cylinder. The invention is characterized in that the outlet opening of the gravity cylinder is located underneath the liquid level of the receiving body of water.
