  • Patent number: 5713272
Abstract: A powder press with mechanical-hydraulic shuttle control including a main press shaft, a control unit mounted on the powder press for converting rotational motion into translational motion, including a first actuator assembly; a second actuator assembly in fluid communication with the first actuator assembly; a shuttle assembly disposed at one end of the second actuator assembly; and a cardan shaft for transferring rotational motion of the main press shaft to the control unit. The control unit includes first and second shafts disposed in spaced relationship to each other; first and second wheels, each mounted on a respective one of the first and second shafts; a member interconnecting the first and second wheels in rotational engagement; and an adjustable cam member mounted on the second shaft and operatively engaging the first actuator assembly such that rotation of the main press shaft rotates the cardan shaft which, in turn, is coupled to the first shaft in the control unit.

  • Patent number: 5080573
Abstract: In an isostatic press for making compacts of powdered cermaic material, a tool part has, on a sliding head, twice as many mold needles as mold parts which, together with the mold needles, limit molds for making the compacts. The distance between the mold needles on the sliding head is half the distance between the mold parts. The sliding head is moved back and forth in phases in the longitudinal direction of the row of mold pots by the distance between the mold needles, so that, at the same time as the produced compacts are lifted out and deposited on conveyor belts, the other mold needles are moved into the mold pots.

  • Patent number: 5049054
Abstract: In a press having an upper punch and lower punch and a tool mount to be inserted into the press and connected to the lower punch via a lower coupling plate and to the upper punch via an upper joining piece, and a framework mounted displaceably on a base plate of the mount and consisting of connecting rods rigidly connecting the lower coupling plate with the matrix holding plate, die carriers being moved relative to the base plate from their filling position downward into the compacting position and from the compacting position into the ejecting position, which corresponds to the filling position (the so-called ejection method), at lease one additional die carrier, like the matrix holding plate, works by the withdrawal method, this die carrier being moved from the filling position downward into the compacting position and from the compacting position downward into the withdrawing position.

  • Patent number: 4482307
Abstract: A press designed for producing true-to-size workpieces from powder material has upper and lower platens, a base plate, a die support plate and a lower stamp, which is moved hydraulically in translation in relation to the base plate and the die plate. The die plate and the base plate are parts of a frame structure using pull-rods and having the die plate and a lower joining plate as parts thereof. The frame structure is joined with the top platen of the press by way of a connection piece, which may be moved in translation in relation to the frame structure in the direction of pressing, whereas the lower platen of the press is joined up with the lower joining plate. To get an even density in the pressed workpieces and to make possible the use of modern electronic control systems the lower stamp of the press is made up of at least two lower stamp parts which are supported on machine parts.

  • Patent number: 4242968
Abstract: The specification describes a stepping advancing device more particularly r tables for receiving components during a stage of manufacture. The device comprises a crank drive adapted to reciprocate through 180.degree. and attached to the table. A pitman of the crank drive is pivotally connected at its free end remote from the crank shaft with an anchoring or fixing element guided for movement in the direction of movement of the table. This element is clamped to and freed from its guide at the respective end of movement of the crank drive. Furthermore there is a second fixing element, directly fixed to the table and which at the end of travel of the crank drive is detached from and clamped to a further guide, running in the direction of travel of the table, so as to perform an opposite movement to the first-mentioned fixing element.
