  • Patent number: 4620020
Abstract: Novel bis-phosphonium salts of the general formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 stands for a straight or branched alkyl group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms,R.sup.2 stands for methyl, ethyl, n-propyl or iso-propyl, andX.sup..crclbar. stands for a monovalent anion or complex anion, or2 X.sup..crclbar. stands for a bivalent inorganic anion, are made.To this end, a triorganylphosphonium alkylide of the general formula R.sub.3.sup.1 P=CHR.sup.2 is reacted with an anhydrous copper(II)-halide in a solvent at temperatures of -78.degree. C. to 0.degree. C. with agitation, precipitated bis-phosphonium dihalogenocuprate(I) is separated and, if desired, converted by metathesis into another bis-phosphonium salt.

  • Patent number: 4546195
Abstract: The invention concerns a novel process for the production of a complex cound comprising an amino-dicarboxylic acid ion component, a bivalent metal ion component, and a halogen ion component, which comprises the step of reacting together in an aqueous medium an amino-dicarboxylic acid compound, a bivalent metal compound, and a halogen compound, the proportions of said compounds being chosen so that one of each of said ion components is comprised in the aqueous medium, the bivalent metal compound being selected from the oxide, hydroxide, carbonate or a halide of the bivalent metal, and the halogen compound being said halide of the bivalent metal or a hydrogen halide. Certain of the complexes are novel and find use in a variety of medical and veterinary fields.

  • Patent number: 4185028
Abstract: Double ylide complexes of metals are made by reacting trimethylphosphin-imino-dimethyl-methylene phosphorane of the formula ##STR1## with one or more compounds of the metals nickel, palladium, platinum, gold, zinc, cadmium, aluminum, gallium, indium, thallium, magnesium or lithium. The novel double ylide complexes comprise various metal-bis[nitrido-bis(dimethylphosphonium methylides)], dimethyl-metal[nitrido-bis(dimethylphosphonium methylides)], and lithium-[nitrido-bis(dimethylphosphonium methylide)].

  • Patent number: 4173590
Abstract: Novel chemical compounds which comprise tetramethyldiphosphinomethane of the formula:(CH.sub.3).sub.2 P--CH.sub.2 --P(CH.sub.3).sub.2and methyllithium-dimethylphosphine of the formula:LiCH.sub.2 --P(CH.sub.3).sub.2,the latter being an intermediate product. Methyllithium-dimethylphosphine is made by reacting a solution of trimethylphosphine with a solution of alkyllithium in an inert solvent with the exclusion of air and moisture, filtering the resulting white precipitate, washing it with the inert solvent, and drying the washed material. Tetramethyldiphosphinomethane is made by reacting, with agitation, a suspension of methyllithium-dimethylphosphine, or dilithiomethane of the formula Li(CH).sub.2 or magnesiomethane of the formula MgCH.sub.2 in an organic solvent with dimethylchlorophosphine and distilling the resulting reaction mixture.

  • Patent number: 4097509
Abstract: Double-ylide metal complexes are made. To this end, one or more bis-?methyl-(diorganyl)-phosphoranylidene!-methanes of the general formula(CH.sub.3)R.sup.1 R.sup.2 P.dbd.C.dbd.PR.sup.1 R.sup.2 (CH.sub.3)in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each stand independently of one another for an alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or phenyl or tolyl, are reacted with one or more compounds of a monovalent, bivalent or trivalent metal.

  • Patent number: 4083875
Abstract: Trimethyl phosphinimino dimethyl methylene phosphorane of the formula: ##STR1## which is a novel chemical compound is produced. To this end, a tetramethyl phosphonium halide is reacted with 1.1 to 1.5 times the molar quantity of an alkali metal amide in an organic solvent, at 0.degree. to 35.degree. C, with the exclusion of air and moisture, and over a period of 24 to 72 hours. The reaction mixture is freed from residue and subjected to fractional distillation.
