  • Patent number: 6729295
Abstract: A rotary piston engine having at least two rotary pistons formed as gearwheels mounted in a rotatable fashion on mutually perpendicular axes in a housing that provides a closed seal for the pistons on both faces as well as around their circumferences, is at one point in a sliding, mutually sealing engagement of gear, teeth with each other. The two rotary pistons have different diameters and the teeth forming the individual pistons make contact at an angle of 45° in each case and have slightly helical flanks. The tooth spaces forming a carburetion chamber, a compression chamber and a working chamber have an inside contour precisely matching the shape of the teeth. Each of the internal and external teeth are assigned through-flow bores where each through-flow bores opens into an outlet on a circular surface area of the rotary pistons which lie opposite to each other.

  • Patent number: 6601379
Abstract: The invention aims at providing higher efficiency and good exhaust gas performance. To this end, a fresh-gas is compressed in a first cylinder chamber having a first piston during successive compression strokes and compressed in one of at least two combustion chambers, in which combustion of a mixture consisting of the compressed fresh gas and an at least partially evaporated fuel is started after the combustion chamber has been closed in relation to the first combustion chamber. Subsequently, the combustion chamber is opened relative to a second cylinder chamber and a second piston in the second cylinder chamber is impinged upon by the combustion gases expanding form the combustion chamber to perform a working cycle. After the working cycle has been completed, the exhaust gases are expelled from the second cylinder chamber.

  • Patent number: 6487843
Abstract: A turbomachine is operated in a manner to improve the degree of efficiency of a machine of this type. To this end, fresh air that has been drawn in by suction is isochorically heated in individual, closed off conveying and heating chambers, which are arranged in succession in the conveying direction, and then supplied to a working machine in which the air is expanded and behind which the air is burned after being mixed with fuel. The resulting combustion gases are then guided past the conveying and heating chambers in the opposite direction to the conveying direction of the same, in such a way that the fresh air that is drawn in by suction is successively isochorically heated in said chambers.

  • Patent number: 6318335
Abstract: The invention relates to an operating method of an internal combustion engine. According to the method, a fuel-air mixture is rapidly combusted in order to move a piston. The fuel contained in or introduced into an occluded fresh gas is evaporated in the fresh gas, which has already been sucked into a cylinder chamber and then compressed. The fuel is then combusted and the piston is subjected to the pressure produced by the combustion gases (working cycle). After performing its working cycle, the piston ejects the waste gases from the cylinder chamber. The aim of the invention is to improve the efficiency of the internal combustion engine. To this end, the fresh gas that is compressed during the compression cycle is pressed into a first combustion chamber. The aforementioned evaporation process is then carried out in the first combustion chamber once it has been sealed off from the cylinder chamber.
