  • Patent number: 9977948
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the localization of gripping points of objects, wherein the objects are scanned by means of a 3D sensor and the objects are illuminated by means of at least one first illumination unit while the objects are detected by means of a camera, wherein the relative positions of the 3D sensor, of the first illumination unit and of the camera with respect to one another are known and the 3D sensor, the first illumination unit and the camera are arranged in a fixed position with respect to one another. In this respect, the boundary of the objects is determined from a two-dimensional image generated by the camera, a spatial position is determined from detected distance information of the 3D sensor and of the two-dimensional image and the gripping points for the objects are determined from the boundaries and from the spatial position of the objects.

  • Patent number: 7199385
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for the detection of objects moved on a segmented conveyor means by means of an optoelectronic sensor, in which in each case the geometric center of the objects is determined via the optoelectronic sensor, whereupon the objects are each associated with that conveyor segment in the region of which the respectively determined geometric center is located. The invention further relates to a method and to an apparatus for the determination of the dimensions of objects moved on a conveyor means by means of an optoelectronic sensor, in which the dimensions of the objects are detected and corresponding.

  • Patent number: 6896185
Abstract: The invention relates to an optoelectronic code reader and to a method for the reading in of codes, which move relative to the code reader within a reading zone, by scanning the reading zone at least along one scan direction. For the reading of codes which are arranged along the scan direction at different distances to the code reader, at least one first scanning device and one second scanning device are provided which are controlled along the scan direction at different focal positions.

  • Patent number: 6849860
Abstract: The invention relates to a detection system and a detection method for the detection and tracking of optical codes on objects which are transported along a monitored zone, comprising a plurality of optoelectronic sensors to read the codes and to generate corresponding reading data and comprising at least two data buses, each having its own associated bus control unit, wherein each of the plurality of sensors is connected both to the one and to the other of the two data buses and wherein the one of the two data buses with the associated bus control unit, on the one hand, and the other data bus with the associated bus control unit, on the other hand, are divided into a primary branch and a secondary branch which is subordinate to the primary branch.

  • Patent number: 6145745
Abstract: A method is described for the reading of a bar code consisting of a predetermined number of code elements for the production of a binary signal with sequential high and low phases the length of which correspond to the width of the sequential code elements. In the method the code elements are scanned by the scanning beam or by a plurality of scanning beams of a bar code reader along scanning lines extending substantial parallel to one another. During this the sweeping of the scanning beam over the bar code defines a scan and a scanning plane is defined by each scanning beam when sweeping over the bar code. The angle of tilt between the respective scanning plane and A predetermined reference plane is determined for essentially each scan. During the decoding of the bar code the angles of tilt thus found are evaluated to compensate for grid errors, i.e. for irregular spacings between adjacent scanning lines.

  • Patent number: 6073847
Abstract: A method is described for the reading of a bar code consisting of a predetermined number of code elements for the generation of a binary signal with sequential high and low phases, the lengths of which correspond to the width of the sequential code elements, in particular with a reading direction extending obliquely to the code elements. The code elements are sensed by one or more sensing beams of a bar code reader along scanning lines extending substantially parallel to one another, with each region of a code element scanned by a scanning line forming a code element section. For substantially each scanning line those code segments which consist of a code element section, or a plurality of sequential code element sections, are detected, which are recognized as permissible code segments on the basis of preset decision criteria.
