  • Patent number: 4976914
Abstract: In methods and devices for removing a blower from a gas-cooled nuclear reactor, removal bells have previously been used which require considerable free space above the blower in the case of vertically extending blower configurations. In order to achieve a lower structural height according to the invention, the periphery of the connection location between the blower housing and the steam generator housing is overlapped by a flange ring attached to the steam generator housing. The blower housing performs a vertical moving maneuver within the range of the height of the flange ring, during which a sealing cover and a transport cover are inserted through a lateral opening in the flange ring. The sealing cover is deposited on the edge of the opening of the steam generator housing and the transport cover is coupled to the bottom region of the blower housing. The blower housing is then removed together with the blower.
