  • Publication number: 20110308692
Abstract: A method for the production of a seal includes producing a support part, providing a complete coating over the support part, producing a sealing element separate from the production of the support part and adhesively bonding the support part and the sealing element so as to form a unit. The unit is inserted into an opening of a housing.

  • Patent number: 5957551
Abstract: A process and device for starting a motor vehicle having a braking system in which a brake force is at least partially supplied by at least brake energy storage devices. Prior to starting a motor vehicle, the vehicle is initially switched into a non-drivable state in which the vehicle is disabled from movement. A charging state of each brake energy storage device may be checked to ensure an adequate charging state. If the charging state of at least one of the brake energy storage devices is greater than or equal to a predetermined minimum charging state, the vehicle may be switched into a drivable state and, thus, operable by the driver.

  • Patent number: 5902019
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for providing controlled braking of a motor vehicle and a brake system for carrying out the method. The brake system includes a central unit and brake actuators for each wheel of the motor vehicle. The brake actuators are connected to the central unit. In the central unit, a relative braking-force distribution key is computed at time intervals and is transmitted to the brake actuators. With a braking operation, the absolute braking force for the braking operation is computed in each brake actuator from the corresponding component of the relative braking-force distribution key.

  • Patent number: 5829845
Abstract: An electrical brake system for a motor vehicle is provided that may include an integrated electrical auxiliary brake. The wheel brakes of the brake system may be actuated via brake application devices. The internal friction can be selectively increased through an electrical auxiliary brake to create a self-locking of the brake application device with an increased brake application force.

  • Patent number: 5810454
Abstract: The invention is directed to an electrically/electronically controllable braking system including: a brake actuating device 6, at least two brake circuits (2, 4) and two processors (8a, 8b; 10a, 10b) for each brake circuit (2, 4) for driving the actuators (12a to 12d) and for the control of further functions such as slip control functions. The processors (8a, 8b) of the rear brake control are joined in a rear brake control apparatus 16 and the processors (10a, 10b) of the front wheel brake control are joined in a front brake control apparatus 18. The allocations of the functions of the electric control apparatus for both brake circuits are optimized especially while considering reliability. The brake actuating device 6 outputs its actuating function via signal lines 7 to all processors (8a, 8b; 10a, 10b).

  • Patent number: 5788023
Abstract: A brake actuator for electrically actuated vehicle brakes includes a spindle assembly without additional gear stages. The forces required for engaging the brake are realized herein by utilizing the spindle assembly. The brake actuator includes a brake pad which is pressed against a brake disc with the aid of an electric motor (4) operating as an electric drive. A planetary-roller spindle assembly operatively connects the electric motor to a brake piston on which the brake pad is mounted. The electric motor (4) is connected via the spindle assembly to the brake piston (32). The spindle assembly (16) is arranged in the displacement direction of the brake pad and the brake piston (32) is journalled so as to be axially displaceable with the brake pad. The spindle assembly (16) includes a spindle rod (18) which is mounted so as to be an extension of the rotor (8) of the electric motor (4).

  • Patent number: 5682965
Abstract: The invention is directed to a brake actuator of a vehicle which provides for a hydraulic reset in such a manner that a defined distance is always present between the brake lining 26 and the brake disc in the rest position of the friction brake. The brake actuator includes an electric motor 2, a hydraulic transmission 16 having a hydraulic chamber 22 with a first hydraulic piston 14 and a second hydraulic piston 18 and a second hydraulic cylinder 20. The brake actuator also includes a spindle unit (8, 10) located between an electric motor 2 and the hydraulic transmission 16. A further hydraulic chamber in the form of a readjusting chamber 28 is also provided. This additional chamber is closed off with a compensating piston movable relative to the ambient. The additional chamber 28 is connected to the first hydraulic chamber 22 via an opening 44 located in the second hydraulic piston 18. The opening 44 is provided with a check valve to permit flow to the pressure chamber 22.

  • Patent number: 5509641
Abstract: The invention is directed to an air spring which supports a vehicle body on another vibrating component with an air spring flexible member which can be charged with pressurized air. The ends of the air spring flexible member are mounted air tight on respective connecting parts. One of the connecting parts is mounted on the vehicle body and the other connecting part is mounted on a vehicle component. The connecting part mounted on the vehicle component includes an elastically tied vibration absorber mass in order to reduce vibrations of the vehicle component in the resonant region.
