  • Patent number: 9155709
Abstract: A composition containing two (2) essential medicaments formed in situ, hydroalcoholic povidone iodine and hydroalcoholic benzalkonium chloroiodide after mixing a stock solution and a topical reacting solution which form a safe and effective antiseptic, antimicrobial protective polymeric film after topical application to the skin. A method of preparing a composition for forming a protective polymeric film after topical application includes mixing povidone iodine in a buffer solution to form a stock solution and mixing that solution on a one to one basis with a topical reacting solution with a hydroalcoholic benzalkonium chloride with lidocaine or benzocaine solution. A related method of treating injured or diseased skin is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5254063
Abstract: The invention herein pertains to exercise equipment and particularly to an exercise bar which is placed long the shoulders, behind the neck of the user for various torso exercises. The exercise bar comprises a longitudinal member with weights on either side of the neck portion that can be slidably moved therealong or exchanged depending on the degree of resistance desired. One version of the exercise device includes a wall mount having a motorized system for electrically adjusting the weight elements along the longitudinal member while mounted.

  • Patent number: 4660562
Abstract: An electrode assembly for multi-event biomedical event measuring which has a device for sensing more than one physiological parameter of a patient and includes a housing having an upwardly extending portion adapted to receive a mating connector that includes a plurality of electrically conductive paths. The electrically conductive paths are positioned to coincide with electrically conductive paths provided in the upwardly extending housing portion. The housing base includes at least a plurality of compartments; at least one of the compartments circumferentially surround the upwardly extending portion and is open in the opposite direction therefrom. The remaining compartments are disposed beneath the upwardly extending portion and are also open in the opposite direction therefrom. Each of the remaining compartments are adapted to receive a transducer therein with the transducer terminals being connected to the upwardly extending portion conductive paths.

  • Patent number: 4424057
Abstract: A wet-dry syringe for combining and mixing a liquid and a solid medicament or at least two dissimilar liquid medicaments prior to the application thereof to a patient includes a first vial having liquid or solid medicament disposed between a pair of identical vial seals. A second vial functions as a piston rod and includes a pair of end seals with a liquid medicament disposed therein. One of the second vial seals includes a hollow piercing needle which when utilized to pierce one end seal of the first vial causes the medicament therein to flow into the first vial thereby mixing the medicaments prior to application to a patient by means of a needle piercing assembly which pierces the second of the first vial seals and the patient to which the mixed medicaments are to be infused. The second vial functions as a piston rod and aides in the discharge of the medicaments.

  • Patent number: 4365626
Abstract: A universal syringe includes a sterile filled glass vial of injectable medicament retained within the vial by identical piston seals disposed proximate each cylinder end. The piston seals are in intimate frictional contact with the internal walls of the vial and are slidable therealong. Removable plastic end caps are removably retained on the vial ends to maintain the vial in a sterile condition until used. A slidable finger rest encompassing the outer wall of the vial is movable therealong and retained by externally protruding lip portions provided on both ends of the vial. A needle assembly is removably retained in a hollow cylindrically shaped piston rod which is capped on both ends to maintain the sterile condition. The needle assembly may be readily removed from the hollow piston rod and one end thereof may be inserted into the vial piston seal at either end and retained thereby, a needle pierced the seal to provide communication of the medicament in the vial through the needle opening to the patient.
