  • Patent number: 5054657
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing foodstuffs or other consumer products and the like comprises a base, a drive assembly having a drive handle, a container defining a chamber at least partially filled with foodstuffs or other products and a feed cone having an auger blade disposed therein and extending into the container when the feed cone and the container are operably linked. A measuring chamber and a dispenser chute are moveably mounted to the feed cone. The dispensing chute is retained in a normally closed position by a spring secured to the dispenser chute. When the drive handle is manually turned a measured quantity of food stuff or other consumer product is conveyed into the measuring chamber.

  • Patent number: 4802609
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing solid snack foods and the like comprises a closed container defining a chamber adapted to be at least partially filled with a snack food. A measuring cup is mounted on the container for receiving a measured quantity of the snack food. A dispensing tray is pivotally mounted on the measuring cup to normally close an open bottom thereof and is moveable to an open position for discharging the measured quantity of foodstuff. An elongated screw is mounted in the container, between the chamber and measuring cup, and is adapted to be manually turned to convey the measured quantity of foodstuff into the measuring cup.

  • Patent number: 4790457
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing solid snack foods and the like comprises a closed container defining a chamber adapted to be at least partially filled with a snack food. A measuring cup is mounted on the container for receiving a measured quantity of the snack food. A combined dispensing tray and chute is pivotally mounted on the measuring cup to normally close an open bottom thereof and is moveable to an open position for discharging the measured quantity of foodstuff. An elongated screw conveyor, having flexible blades, is mounted in the container, between the chamber and measuring cup, and is adapted to be manually turned to convey the measured quantity of foodstuff into the measuring cup. A baffle is movably mounted in the chamber and responsive to rotation of the screw conveyor to shake the foodstuff onto the screw conveyor and to prevent clogging and breakage.

  • Patent number: 4492070
Abstract: A case loading apparatus comprises a first conveyor for moving a plurality of articles therealong and a second conveyor for moving open-ended cases therealong. The first conveyor deposits a stacked plurality of the articles on a platen, mounted on an elevator, for movement to a lowered position whereat the articles are transferred to a receptacle. The receptacle is moved adjacent to one of the cases and is inserted therein.

  • Patent number: 4348853
Abstract: A case opening and sealing apparatus comprises a magazine having a plurality of flattened case blanks stacked therein, a conveyor underlying the magazine, and a plurality of suction cups for opening each case into tubular form for subsequent filling. Each forward case blank in the magazine is precisely ejected into proximity with the suction cups for opening purposes by a shuttle mechanism which functions to sequentially (1) engage a lower edge of the case blank to initially prevent removal thereof from the magazine, (2) move the case blank upwardly to release the lower edge thereof from the magazine, and (3) push the case blank downwardly onto the conveyor and into close proximity with the suction cups which function to open the case into tubular form.

  • Patent number: 4058206
Abstract: A display carton comprises a one-piece blank cut and scored to form vertically disposed front, back and side panels and horizontally disposed top and bottom panels. A vertically disposed separate partition is further disposed intermediate the side panels and is attached to the front, back and bottom panels by lock tabs engaging accommodating slots formed through the panels. A continuous tear line is formed in the front, back, side, and top panels to divide the carton into a removable upper section and a lower section adapted to retain a plurality of upstanding packages therein for display purposes.

  • Patent number: 4052931
Abstract: A bag-type liner is applied interiorly of a container, such as a corrugated carton or box, by inserting an open end of the liner over an open end of the container and thereafter creating a vacuum within the container and liner to simultaneously draw the liner within the container. In a first apparatus embodiment of this invention, the vacuum is created by moving a partially opened bottom of the container over a vacuum opening formed in the platen. In a second apparatus embodiment of this invention, a pair of vacuum plenums are movably mounted adjacent to sides and upper portions of the container to draw the vacuum over and between upper closure flaps connected to the container.
