    Abstract: An assembly for elevating particularly a lamp canopy on a lamp standard comprises a screw arranged longitudinally of the standard and rotatable at a lower end to drive the canopy up and down the mast. The screw is located in a channel formed by flanges exterially of the mast. Nuts separate from the canopy can be moved up and down the screw to support cables to the lamp and to stabilize the screw. The channel can be covered by cover plates applied to the channel and carried along the channel by the raising canopy.
