  • Patent number: 4805087
Abstract: A microprocessor-controlled microfiche viewer which is adaptable for displaying microfiche having any format. The viewer calls up selected microfiche images in either a sequential mode or a random mode. In the sequential mode a carrier table follows a default sequence, and is cued by a keyboard control, by a dual-tone audio cueing signal that is received over a telephone line or from a tape player, or by a digital signal from an RS-232 port. In the random mode, particular images are selected by moving the carrier table in desired directions with directional keys, or by providing the coordinates of an image to the microprocessor. Image coordinates are entered manually at the keyboard, by dual-tone audio signals from a telephone line or a tape player, or by data from the RS-232 port.
