The video baton comprises: a handle portion, a shuttle assembly slidingly positioned within the handle portion between an extended position and a retracted position, and a flexible coupling element having a proximal end and a distal end. The flexible coupling element is coupled to the shuttle assembly at the proximal end and an image capturing and lighting assembly positioned at the distal end of the flexible coupling element.
