  • Patent number: 5478581
Abstract: An infusible pouch and cover assembly assembly comprises an infusible pouch containing an infusible substance, and a cover having a first leaf and a second leaf joined along a pair of adjacent edges. Each of the leaves has a hinge line adjacent to and spaced from the joined pair of edges, and the pouch is joined along a central portion of one of the adjacent edges to the first leaf below its hinge line so that the pouch can be inserted down the inside of a container with a wedging action on the pouch as it conforms to the inside shape of the container with the first leaf extending down the outside of the container. The two leaves are joined together over an area extending from the hinge lines to the joined edges of the leaves to thus form a portion in the form of a handle to be grasped by the user.

  • Patent number: 4880651
Abstract: Method and apparatus to provide a tea bag with a cover. The tea bags (1) slide (2) onto a length of cover material (3) where they are attached at one edge only, using heat sealing, etc. (7). The cover material is creased (5, 9) and cut (13), the rollers (10, 11) serving to forward it and the bags attached thereto. Blade (15) pushes the creaseline of a cover so that bag and cover are forced between rollers (16, 17) to fold the cover about its bag. In an alternative, blade (15) pushes each bag and cover between two spring steel plates whereby the pressing of the plates folds the cover about its bag.
